i wouldn't advise any civilian to use a chokehold move, unless you like the hassle of possibly being in court. If the guy dies for any reason at all, you're likely going to go through the same process as Penny.

I’ve seen hundreds, if not thousands, of out of control psychotic humans trying to be controlled to ensure the safety of the medical and nursing personnel trying to help the crazed individual. The reality of most of the situations is that there is no ‘one playbook’ that will work in all situations. It is often a fine line to straddle while trying to protect others while subduing the wild man. I certainly don’t know the best and safest way to subdue a lunatic, but I do know it isn’t easy, and contains lots of unpredictable moving parts.

Daniel Penny acquitted. He was the man who put a man who was threatening other subway riders in a chokehold, and that man died. Penny risked his own safety to protect others. A jury of his peers found him not guilty of any crimes.

AOC is now saying the subways are less safe because of Daniel Penny. As is usual, she is 100% wrong. The rest of the law abiding citizens on that subway car were protected by Daniel Penny. Act like a wild man threatening other passengers and risk meeting your maker.

This is much like the Bernie Goetz case back in the 1980s. For those that do not remember, back then the NYC subways were even worse than now and had been since the late 60s. Goetz was surrounded by a group of young black makes who "asked" for $5. Libs then attacked him similar to how they are Penny now. They claimed he was "racist" and assuming a group of young black males was asking you for money did not mean you were getting mugged. In a way just like the lefties on this board say election fraud is not fraud until it affects an election. But I digress.

Mr. and Mrs. America knew better. They knew what thugs were and did because they often lived around it, not in safe seclusion like those attacking Goetz. Goetz was acquitted on the shootings but the legal system destroyed him.

Bottom line is things do not change.
War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength

How many died during their frenzy period of struggle? Eliminating anyone with other injuries like bleeding that might kill them.

Not sure. Remember, this was in a hospital with us highly trained and fully equipped docs and nurses ready to help. But to answer your question, I can’t remember any. But to be fair, we have a whole cadre of security guards ready to hold down the lunatic. Daniel Penny had NO such backup.

Let’s say there was as no Daniel Penny on that train. Who knows how much damage/injury/death might have ensued to the lady? Her son? Others? Luckily we will never find out.

That just makes me think Perry could have killed him as the prosecution medical examiner believed.

• 33lbs of pressure on the trachea is required to
completely close it off.
• If pressure is released immediately consciousness
will be regained within 10 seconds.

Believe it or not, I am firmly in the camp that Daniel Penny is a hero. I actually just found out today that he was an immigrant (from Iceland, who joined the Marines for citizenship,) not really relevant to this case, but just an interesting fact.

I am sick of the amount of crazy people who harass people on subways and trains and nothing gets done. Maybe he had the guts to do something because he did not grow up in American culture? (I have a feeling you do not see such people on Iceland trains.)

Chokeholds are for amateurs.

Do what the Portland Police once recommended: "Smoke em, don't choke em."
