That's because those networks cost nothing to view on your TV. Zero nada, they are free. So of course they're going to have more viewers because there are millions of people who can't afford cable. But you're also talking about something totally different. Those news programs are only on for 60 or 30 minutes and the cable networks are on 24/7. Prime time is 3 hours long. If those network shows you quoted were 3 hours long there's no way they be getting that many viewers
