guns don't kill people

Stephen King simply made a statement about Charlie Kirk wanting to stone gay people. Quoting people after they die does not warrant an apology. He only got in trouble, because he quoted what was Kirk quoting religious passages. The right loves frivolous lawsuits, so it wouldn't surprise me, but there is no way it would go anywhere as he issued a retraction within hours...

Only a complete idiot would have believed Kirk would have said that. Only a special kind of idiot would have quoted it after his death without checking the quote because of how silly it is.

As for other people, the right wing is turning this into a witch hunt for anyone who is not mourning Kirk's death. It is very North Korea-esque...

No, it is very what the left does all the time eaque. The left's own tactics used and surprise, surprise, surprise, lefties do not like being held to their own standards.

I mean he technically did say it, he just said it in the context of quoting the Bible...

It depends how it is used. I have zero issue with the general premise. Reporting people who gloat in his death or make threats to living people is fine. Targeting people for not being sad enough or saying they don't care is not. I said North Korea, because they have the mourning police there (to make sure people are crying enough at the death of popular leaders....)

Social media scrubbing happens for all kinds of reasons, often not political. Many companies do secret social checks to make sure you don't post controversial stuff (or even wild party stuff,) so that you are not a liability. This is one reason I stay off socials (the main reason being it is a waste of time and distracting,) not that I did controversial stuff on there, but even photos you are not proud of, like sillyness at a party can come back to haunt you if people see them out of context years later.

At the end of the day, I would not hire somebody who had extreme views on the left or the right and was public about them, because it's just too much drama. That being said, I also don't go out of my way to check social media, but if something is pointed out to me, I'll consider it.

That is like saying someone "said something" when quoting from Mein Kamph, or any other number of places. But the thing is that it shows how lots of left wingers live in a left wing cocoon. They think that conservatives are what their leftist friends say they are, never checking anything out, or considering what really is being said.

As an example the famous charge "Trump does not read his daily intel brief." Now, the reality is this may be true, but it is because lots of executives hate reading memos or hearing details that do not pertain. This is Trump. He is very informed, but I can be pretty sure when whoever delivers the brief does so that Trump says, "Just tell me what I need to know in a few sentences." If he needs more detail he will get it.

Someone probably told King he "said it" and King decided that he would bring up what nobody else on the news was bringing up. Ignoring that if he had said that then he would not get the crowds he got much less be allowed to show up at all. King used zero common sense in a rush to be heard.

In the videos I have seen it was not about "not being sad enough." It was about disgusting behavior. There are people who I would not be sad about if they died. But.....I would just keep quiet about it. At most I might say that I can't say much nice so I will not say anything. I would not be dancing and shouting about how happy I was on social media.

Omg, if this ain't another one of Ams' burner accounts, then I don't know what is. 😂😂
This is friggin hilarious man. Ams stopped logging in back on Oct 29, and this whale dude registered exactly ONE week later right on Election Day (the very same day that Ams' suspension ended!).
Gee, what a coincidence! (Bahahahahahaha!!)

Remember how we sniffed out that Squid character? Welp, now we've sniffed out Ams' Whale character.
Ams has gotta be the worst guy at trying to deceive us LOL!! 🤣🤣🤣

The MGTOW guys don't like women, but their leader sure likes 13 old boys. Things that make you go hmmmmm....

Please don't forget the pedos, those that advocate sex with 13 old boys should be rounded up with the rest.

At least King is not putting up glam shots of his cats, I.E. the only pussy he can get.

Like incels who join groups headed by known loud and proud child molesters?

The same group on here that accepts a card carrying NAMBLA member and a guy engaging in bestiality with his cats. I guess it's a big tent. LOL

Mark my words, JD Vance will be the first flaming, rump wrangling president. Peter Thiel made sure the fix was in.

Interestingly, that's exactly the move pedos use to grab children off of a playground and load them in a van. Maybe we can get some videos from the pedos on here.
Tell me these posts aren't EXACTLY like Ams' posts!

Some will likely leave the Democrat party, as this may be the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.

this is absolute nonsense

first of all - the killer, Robinson, was not a Democrat - he was unregistered - his parents are Republicans

the idea that a killer somehow represents Democrats and this will somehow cause them to leave the party is ludicrous

Democrats are Democrats because of their core beliefs as are Republicans

this will change nothing with them

it possibly will cause people who haven't voted in the past to do so because of strong feelings either way

Perhaps the most surprising and shocking thing for me has been to learn about the number of problems the transgender community faces. Up until my transition, I had never met another openly trans person. Job discrimination, sex work, ostracism from families, horrific violence...I had no idea what so many people go through to live as their true selves. It is staggering.

While I'm far from perfect and will make some mistakes along the way, I've made it my life goal to help the wonderful people in this community. Trans rights are about 30 years behind gay rights (and look at the incredible progress we've made there!). We've got a lot more work to do in the trans community, but we're getting closer. As Chandi reminds me, "We have to save one soul at a time."

Caitlyn Jenner registered Republican.

That was in 2015. Must be hard to be a trans Republican with people like Kirk.

Maybe so, but I doubt it is legally actionable. If he was shown a clip of Kirk saying that, and he legitimately thought Kirk reasonably said that (he was not intentionally spreading misinformation.) And, he corrected the statement when he received the full clip. I doubt this is any kind of violation. Also, the fact that Kirk is dead, so I don't know what kind of negative effect it could have on career prospects or earnings. I just don't see how this lawsuit could go anywhere...

I am seeing a lot of news stuff and popups today about the Kirk murder suspect not "cooperating" with authorities. And, it is portrayed as if it is some breaking news and some horrendous action.

My question is why is this shocking? If he did murder Kirk he should not cooperate, if he is somehow actually innocent he should also not cooperate.

Like any basic rights class is, if you are a suspect in any kind of crime, don't talk to the police at all until your lawyer is present, and most lawyers will have you say basically nothing... And, if you are a suspect in a murder that is being watched by millions of people and is the top news story across the world, this advice is amplified 1000x, he basically should not say a word to anyone until after the trial...
