Good Muslims exist just like good Christians exist. It's actually very similar, because the good ones are simply not following the worst tenets of their religion.

Or they interpret their religion to conform more to what they want to do anyway.

This doesn't mean I think religion itself is rational.

Trump's comments on the Mormon church shooting are quite odd and restrained, saying we should wait for more information to come out... Strange how quick he was to blame the Kirk shooting on "violent leftists," before even having an ID of the suspect.

Trump also said this was an "attack on Christians," ..... No it was an attack on Mormons by a Christian extremists who views Mormons as not worthy. It is quite literally an attack by Christians not the opposite...

So, you are saying Mormons are not Christians?

Attacks on Mormons go back 150 years. Why do you think they are out there in Utah? It was to get away from persecution.

per google:

"Mormons and Christians: The Difference is the Definition of Jesus In essence, Mormonism is polytheistic. They believe that there are many gods, Jesus is a god, and we can all become gods too. Christianity is monotheistic. There is only one God eternally existing in three persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit"

Sure, let's shoot each other as we argue over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin...

Maybe the so-called Christian Right will start a new "Crusade" against the Mormons...c'mon, man.."magic underwear?"

Mormons are empirically not Christians.

Yes, there was even a war on the Mormons in the 1800s when the Federal government basically did a coup to the state government in Utah, strange history that rarely gets talked about.

They believe Jesus CHRIST is the son of God. To me, that makes them Christians. What makes you a Christian if not the belief that Jesus is the son of God?

Most Christians don't consider Mormons Christians, and while most Mormons do consider themselves Christians, who gets to define Christianity?

Your point about Jesus is deliberately obtuse, and I suspect you know what you are doing... The main reason Christians don't like Mormons is because Mormons believe Jesus was born a normal man (not the Son of God,) but became the Son of God through his life and actions and was essentially appointed by God. So yes, Mormons believe he is the Son of God in Mormonism technically, how he became so is the big issue.

news item, "Sanford’s unhealthy obsession may have sprung from a soured relationship with an “extremely religious” Mormon woman who pressured him to join the church when he lived in Utah, a former landlord told The New York Times."

Obtuse? I’m CRYSTAL CLEAR. If someone
A. Believes there’s a God
B. Believes he had a son named Jesus Christ

Then that person is a CHRISTIAN.

The things you mention are defining what type of Christian you are! Catholic, Russian Orthodox, Episcopalian, Baptist, Methodist, Anglican, Mormon, etc…. All have differing beliefs on various aspects. ALL are Christians.

The funny point is YOU posted that Mormons consider THEMSELVES Christians!

Why are YOU being obtuse?

Maybe next week you’ll argue that Shia Muslims are not Muslims?
