As far as left wing versus right wing violence, the worst example and most problematic to me was the Minnesota lawmaker murders. They were actual elected officials. Murdered because of their generally left wing policies. Second would be the Trump assassination attempts. And only reason it’s not 1st is because the two known attempts were unsuccessful. Kirk’s murder is of course an abomination, but he was just a private citizen. Still a politically motivated assassination.

I am upset they caught this guy alive. I hate that he will be given some sort of platform. And the left will use words like ‘I can understand’ or ‘he was triggered by…’ I will guess this left based murder will result in billions of dollars in extra security costs….

We don't know the politics of the assassin yet. And, no voter registration is confirmed.

But, his parents are definitely Republicans, and he was raised pro-gun and dropped out of college first semester, and is a disgruntled white male, so he seems text book Republican material. Also, he has a history of wearing MAGA hats and even dressed up as Trump once. And, endless photos of posing with various guns.

So assuming he is liberal is a stretch. He possibly converted to the left, or just doesn't like Kirk for some bizarre reason. But, he definitely is not a lifelong liberal.

I don’t mind that they got him alive as we can find if he is a lone wolf or was part of an extremist group. I have not seen a ton about “him” in the news yet but it is early. UT still has firing squad I think. If he gets life I can see him moved to that CO Supermax in the federal system for security and safety.

In practical terms he is the new Sirhan Sirhan whose fate I would expect him to mirror. If he gets life the CO who starts the day he gets in will retire replaced by another CO who will retire and him still rotting. Good!

I read he is registered independent but that is meaningless. He is clearly Antifa supporter influenced if not an actual member. That he “grew up in. Republicans house” is meaningless. He is the TDS crowd at the very least.

Not irrelevant at all. If he grew up in a far left house where parents and siblings were active in anti-Trump protests we would be hearing endlessly about it.... And, he still lives at home, so it's not like this is a distant memory.
