Funny. Two guys I golfed with just flew in from two northern cities. According to them no extra delays. But of course that’s anecdotal. Just read Trump is going to sign an executive order to pay the TSA agents. It’s not clear he has the authority to do so, but this is a case I’m glad it’s loose canon Trump! I’ll repeat the SOOPOO law I want passed… If we force you to work, we will pay you. I’d like to see who would vote against it…. |

I would go further, shut downs should not be a thing. We are the only developed country where it can even happen. We shouldn't need your law, it just should be something that should not be allowed to happen.... That being said, as we are in the system we are in, I support people standing their ground until progress is made. If a deal is not made today, and the only method to pay them is an executive order (which he still has not signed, he is just considering,) I have no idea how that will play out. I think he is somewhat bluffing hoping it will spur the house to agree. But, if it actually comes to him signing it, if no deal is reached by closing today? I have no idea how or when they would be paid, or if at all (funding may end up being blocked if ruled improper.) |

The 13th Amendment prohibits forced work without pay. Not pay at some undetermined future date, but earned pay on a regular basis. |

Holy cow Gee-no!! I'm sooooo impressed. Did you figure this out all by yourself?? Why didn't I think of this? You need to immediately contact your congressman, your state senators, the President, the VP, the DOJ, the DOL, the Teamsters, Jimmy Kimmel, Whoopie Goldberg, Taylor Swift (to name a few) to let them know that the US Constitution is being violated. I'm sure they never thought about this in the almost 20 government shutdowns that occurred over the last 50 or so years. After you relay your information I think that you could be a candidate for the Presidential Medal of Freedom. |
