No reason for her to be fired. The fact that Kavanaugh was going to get a Supreme court position was also a motivating factor. But that only indicates she would have not bothered to come forward not whether she was telling the truth. Same as anyone else might come forward when they see a person they know did something wrong get nominated for a position of power.

It deals with having an ulterior motive for actions and for veracity problems.

If you're a good lawyer you can always suggest a possible ulterior motive either to help cast doubt on your adversary or to protect your client against an accusation. Whether Republican or Democrat, anyone involved with the Epstein case can suggest it's a political hit job becasue both sides have people looking for a reason to take someone down on the other side. There's a built-in ulterior motive.

I can see reason. Making up a story and making a public spectacle of yourself would fall under behavior that reflects on her university. We have seen tenured professors fired for far less. The fact that she dislikes him because he does not love abortion does not give her an excuse.

And he was a heavy drinker and doesn't deserve the credibility people give him. "Those who knew Brett Kavanaugh in his youth have described his hard-drinking habits — but he portrayed himself differently during his Senate hearing. Kavanaugh also made references to alcohol in his high-school yearbook, including "Keg City Club (Treasurer) — 100 Kegs or Bust."

One thing you're right about, there's no proof either way. And it wasn't a trial.
