Consider that Jeb Bush (who everyone insists is a "moderate") is actually defending Indiana & Gov. Pence! Surely Bush knows this rhetoric won't fly in the general election. Surely he knows he'll have to keep quiet and/or backpedal on gay rights if he's serious about winning the White House.

When you commit a blunder, it's only natural to double down when called out about it. But you should never expect your allies to triple down on it. That's just stupid.

If your allies do anyway, your enemies will smile.

Supporters of legalization of marijuana will only get true legal support in a few states. The other ones will simply accomplish their goals the back door way, via medicinal purposes

Mississippi waited until 1966 to legalize alcohol, some 33 years after Prohibition ended. So maybe Ole Miss will legalize recreational cannabis 30 or 40 years after the rest of America. Better late than never!

I might even be alive in 2060...

I wonder how much money the drug cartels are spending on lobbying efforts and ads against legalizing pot.

I'm certainly not a fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger's conservative politics. Nevertheless, his message to Republicans is articulate and persuasive. Republicans ought to listen to what he has to say, but their response seems to be that he's just another phoney R.I.N.O.

I did not know that. I guess there were five states that kept up state laws after the federal one ended.

On January 8, 1918, Mississippi became the first state to ratify the amendment.Nationwide prohibition was repealed in 1933 with the passage of the Twenty-first Amendment on February 20 and its ratification on December 5.

-Dry Date Repeal Date
1908-12-31 1966 Mississippi
1907-09-17 1959 Oklahoma
1880-11-23 1948 Kansas
1909-01-01 1937 N Carolina
1919-05-01 1935 Texas

The Volstead Act which set guidelines for prohibition contained a number of exceptions and exemptions. For example, the Act allowed a physician to prescribe whiskey for his patients, but limited the amount that could be prescribed.

In a similar way, the modern day prescriptions for marijuana use are used to permit recreational use of the drug

Ah yes, "medicinal" whiskey. There were 9 Walgreens pharmacies before Prohibition. By the end of Prohibition, there were 525 Walgreens. The Volstead Act was extremely profitable for Mr. Charles Walgreen.

Some have argued that if beer & wine had been exempted, we might still have Prohibition today. By banning beer & wine, the temperance movement overplayed their hand. A compromise would have been in their best interest.

I see Lindsey Graham threw in his hat running for President.
I dont know what it is about him but he always struck me as being somewhat effminate.
Then I was curious regarding marraige and kids.
No marraige, no kids.
Hmm.
Can a bachelor win the Republican nomination?

Until Colorado and Washington legalized it for recreational use outright.

It would be interesting to see how much real, actual medical use of pot goes on in those two states. I'm willing to bet here's some.

Ann Coulter has jumped the shark

"Her pick for the presidential nomination took host Bill Maher aback and caused laughter to erupt from the studio audience.
Maher asked Coulter: "Which Republican candidate has the best chance of winning the general election?"
Coulter's response: "Of the declared ones? Right now, Donald Trump."

Ann coulter has jumped the shark again.
On Nikki Haley Gov of SC
"I really like to like Nikki Haley since she is a Republican. On the other hand, she is an immigrant and does not understand America's history"
LOL
Nikki Haley was born in (drum roll) South Carolina.
