I posted a link to this book ages ago (might not have even been in this thread) but, it explores this exact topic of how human rights came to be without resorting to "God"

Perhaps we should all read it and discuss

You do realize the book is written by Alan dershowitz, a non-practicing Jew who claims to be more of an agnostic/atheist. So we pretty much know he's not going to give any credit to religion for the origins of human right s

I read the link, forward and comments, and noticed as EB stated that Dershowitz wrote it. I'm not going to commit myself to reading another book at this time however the subject does interest me. I will gladly read your comments on the thread.
