How many California's are there?

Three: California, Baja California, and Baja California Sur.

Which do you suppose Reagan governed at?

These days, though, someone espousing the same views as Reagan as regards, say, immigration, dealings with Russia, dealings with NATO, free trade, etc., would be dismissed as a RINO.

You miss the point as usual and yet again.

No you miss the point
Ronald Reagan , your hero and a conservative, won the majority of California's votes to become Governor

In most of Calif state elections,
Repub's don't even bother
running, it's a lost cause. Just
like a banana republic, one
party runs unopposed year
after year. I just read an op-ed
that put it succinctly: "We had
a national election for president,
not an election decided by one
state." 49 states picked the
president, Calif picked whatever
Dem was on the ticket.
So CA is a one party state. They're not the only one. TX hasn't elected a dem to a state wide office in over 20 years. Tell me again why, when assessing the popular vote we need to discount he 11 million plus votes cast in CA?

Going to California is almost like stepping into a parallel dimension. Socially, economically, legal system, everything.
I've heard the same said about TX, not to mention Louisiana. Everyone knows that state is in a world of its own.

Because this wasn't wasn't a popular vote
election. Neither candidate for one second
courted the popular vote, only the EC vote.
Every media outlet displayed the EC map
almost every day for months, pointing
out paths to the WH. Never once did any
of them say getting the popular vote was
a path to victory. So screaming 'Hillary won the
popular vote' is like saying 'I don't understand
how elections work in the US.' Calif gave the
popular vote to Hillary, the margin of votes by
which Hillary won the state of Calif was
significantly greater than the margin by which
she won the national popular vote.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I didn't say anything about the legitimacy of Trump's EC win. If the popular vote doesn't matter then why keep insisting that it is tainted by relying on CA? It's just silly. I'll tell you what. We'll throw out CA and let me pick a state to throw out then we'll recalculate. Sound fair?

Because it makes the point to people
who do think it matters. That's my last
response to you about this, get
somebody else to explain it to you.

Understood. I'll just go ahead and consider California as one of our states in good standing.

See? Righties really hate the fact that Trump got decimated in the popular vote...

Not to the same extent as CA. LA does have Code and not Common Law, but socially neither is as out of step with the rest of the USA as CA is. Not just socially. CA is the only state that makes its own laws as to auto emissions. Their labor laws are the most inflexible of any state. Population size they outrank everyone by far.

I have been to TX and to CA, not even close the differences.
