A friend of mine is a PCP in Salt Lake, private practices are almost unheard of it's all the business model now. Several Dr's sharing the same building and some staff. After Covid hit, people quit coming in for every bruise and blister, they weren't showing up for the routine care that PCP's use as their bread and butter. He got laid off. Hard to think a Dr. got laid off, so instead of messing with it or travelling to wherever like some tramp lineman, he had saved enough money so he just retired. Said hell with it. Where will America find enough Dr's to work for trade wages plus a kicker? Needs to be an incentive for people to do that with their lives, unless they just like being a healer. The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |

It's cross party agreed and heaven help any politician who aspires to damage, defund or dismantle it. Yes, it has deep flaws and struggles to provide acceptable service, but what it does provide, it provides to all. What some of your pundits don't tell you is that it's not an either/or. If we Brits wish to get faster or better treatment, we are free to buy or insure for superior private care and the total cost is modest, even then. Our NHS has it's own capacity and buys in services from outside providers as well. |
