Oh no, Irma is a cat 3 now with 125
winds. The MSM is devastated, they
were depending on a cat 5 for ratings.
Now they don't know what will happen,
maybe a cat 4 when it leaves Cuba, CNN
is very worried it won't be.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

A lot here in the neighborhood deciding to riding it out like me
All families with children in the neighborhood have evacuated
A few have put up plywood, most have not.
So far, weather is beautiful
Made another trip to the grocery store this am for a few odds and ends.
They still have plenty of water. Very impressive. Publix.
Eating good as I am using up my perishables in the packed fridge
Set up my popup camper in my garage. Pretty high garage ceiling.
Filled it with water, 20 gallon water tank and 6 gallon water heater.
My local shelter, Sickles High School, is reported as full

But in one year you would be talking about 10% of the number of people that were affected by 341 years of the African slave trade.

If we take the white supremacist approach to the slave trade an apply it to September 11th 2001, we find that under 0.0003% of the population of New York City was killed, and the economic damage was under 0.005% of the city's GDP. Therefore the event must have been insignificant.

Irma update from Tampa
Took a bike ride to my local CVS. Usually 24/7, they are closing at 6pm
They had toilet paper. I'm impressed. The large Publix grocery store was all out.
Applebees closed. Next door Burger King doing great business as there was a long line of cars in the take out line
Gas station across the street out of gas.
Real nice weather but the wind is picking up a bit

Lol
About 10 years ago, the office closed due to an impending hurricane. Weather was not too bad so I went out to golf. Very windy. I told my buddy, this is what golf must be like in Hawaii.

439pm est, wind picking up a bit

Watching hurricane coverage is a train wreck
in slow motion. But it looks just like the last
FL hurricane, or one 20 years ago. Borrrring..

Irma update Tampa
My biggest concern is the back of my townhouse, ground floor sliding glass door.
I love my view, very relaxing
A deck, little grass lawn then a retention pond then wetlands with wild trees and brush
I'm worried the wind will whip up a lot of debris in the wetlands that can hit my unit.
Also worried the wind could move the pond water up to the back of my unit
My garage door, edges have rubber flanges to keep wind out. Used Duct Tape to make it more secure and wind proof. Wind gets in your garage and you can kiss your unit goodbye.
Other then that, I'm pretty confident in the strength of my townhouse.

Depending how Irma progresses up the coast, the biggest thing I have to worry about is tornados.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?
