Somehow I doubt that... girls these days freely approach males in supermarkets and bookstores. Women these days are equally emboldened in approaching males.

The accusations seem limited to the entertainment industry and particularly to men who are rich and powerful. Its becoming a witchhunt atmosphere with fatal consequences to careers. Heck, Spacey was even written out of a movie role as an elderly billionaire who would not ransom his son nor later support him.

Entertainment is a crazy industry. Reality is women's roles in movies/TV are far fewer than men. Half the time they just have to look good. This is not new, look back to Shakespeare, they did not use any women at all back then. Women just do not have the same stage presence nor are there as many interesting roles as there are for men. Save the "exceptions." For every Maria Bartiromo who can carry herself, there are a dozen "weather girls" who are there to look good.

The only part of entertainment where women are a bigger draw then men is porn.

OTOH, it clearly seems women are more drawn to entertainment than men (straight men, anyhow.) Larger number, less available slots, easy to see how and why some men in power take advantage. "Look, sweetie, he's the star and I have a dozen cute girls to choose from. What's it worth to ya?"
