that is the 2nd case this week that I was involved with from the beginning that I’ve been taken off of

Assume the position. I've read that after
awhile you begin to like it..

Sorry to hear, but you will be happier in the long run.

In my first out of college job the day I was fired was happier than the day I started. Second happiest of my career.

Owner told me he couldn't provide me with any severance as money was too tight

That could be a better thing long-term from a no-compete standpoint.

Hopefully it was handled professional.

Sorry to hear this
After all I read, seems you would be much better off leaving.
Have you considered relocating. I moved from MD to Tampa for my job
Have anything in the IRA tide you over
I was recently having issues at work and considered leaving
My plan was to take 30k out of my IRA, relax and look for work next year
I decided to stay. Need the health insurance.

Sorry about your predicament but I think in the long run this will be a great opportunity for you. That sounded like a miserable working environment.

Did you expect severance? I didn't think you had been there very long. Most companies that I am familiar with don't give any severance until after five years of employment. At that point it is usually one week severance per year of employment.

I would suggest that you go to Vegas now. If you wait who knows how long before you will get sometime off from your future employer.

Difficult to relocate to practice law as I would be completely new to the laws of the new state, with zero experience in that state
No IRA - that was all used up years ago after the "reality" disaster

I took it extremely well, I hung out for a bit with the staff and ate some lunch
The hot chick attorney gave me some leads on firms she knows are hiring since she turned them down (and told me she regrets turning them down to work for the Owner)
