Am I supposed to reject your experience that your brakes work and the millions of others that claim your brakes work? I don't think so. Your personal experience of no God is based on your desire that their is no God. You have closed your mind so that no matter how many people tell you how brakes really work and give personal testimony that they do work you will still chose to believe that not only do brakes not work they don't even exist. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

Nope. It's based on the same reason I don't believe in Bigfoot, unicorns, or alien abductions. I see no proof for any of it. You still haven't explained why your unprovable personal experience of god is any more valuable than my unprovable experience. Truth is, they both have equal value and cross each other out. In the end you're stuck with Hebrews 11:1.. You're god is hoped for, so crank up that faith.. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

FrGamble Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 67 Posts: 7596 | Your experience of God is colored by your hatred and close mindedness of all things related to God. Do you really expect me or anyone to take your experience seriously when you can't even acknowledge the possibility of God's existence? You are engaging in a circular argument and have already made up your mind. It is not my fault you have chosen to reject God. If your not happy with your decision, which of course you are not, don't blame me or God. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

It doesn't matter if my personal experience involves gingerbread and lollypops, the point is it's MY experience and is just as valuable as your experience. You can't just cherry pick other peoples experiences and throw out all the ones that don't agree with yours.. But wait, of course that's what you do, it's what all religious people do. That's how you get your so called 'proof'.
Atheism isn't rejecting god, what are you talking about. I don't believe there is a god to reject. Do you reject unicorns? Of course not, there are none to reject. I don't hate your god and am not angry with him. How can you get mad at a fiction. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

You seem unable to accept it. I accept it and understand it perfectly. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

This is exactly what you do! I'm acknowledging your experience and I honor it. However, you do not desire even the possibility of belief in God and you have closed your mind to the idea. You do not want to belief and so you don't, surely you don't deny it. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

No you don't. You've made it abundantly clear many times that your personal experience is such a be all end all of personal experiences, that we should just buy it on your word and throw our faces on the carpet and worship your god. It doesn't work that way. My experience is totally different than yours, and just as valid. We all create our own reality here, you choose one with a god in it. I choose not to have one. You say I've chosen not to believe in your god. It's not a choice, I see no god to believe in. I choose not to have the faith described in 11:1. I don't see the purpose of it or a reason to do it. You only see a reason because you were taught it from an early age. I was lucky and was not. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
