Yeah its going to be a cluster.

Most Cities (such as where I live) will place local restrictions in place. In a way its a good thing because Kemp's order was worded in such a way to prevent local authorities from making stricter regulations.

Luckily most cities will go back to how it was before Kemp's order (which was actually better because it was stricter).

Absolutely! We will never know how many actual deaths because of the pressure to call any death that can be at least remotely attributed to the China Virus as the cause.

Well Mr. Shrek.... I have been saying it for quite a while. I expect the death rate in a country like ours (first world medicine) will be less than 1%. But my my conclusion is far different than yours. Even today, "past the peak", New York City will have around FIVE HUNDRED deaths due to COVID-19. That's in ONE day.

It is the combination of many things that makes this pandemic complex.

1. High (how high we can argue about) death rate per infected person.
2. Ease of transmission between people given normal day to day life.
3. Overwhelming of normal medical systems during the pandemic.
4. SUCCESS at decreasing deaths by social distancing.
5. Buttttttt...... the devastation to the economy, our way of life, peoples psyche's, the long term economic health of the nation, peoples nest eggs, small business bankruptcies, big business bankruptcies, devastation of travel industry, casino industry, theaters, gyms, etc......

I'm not even saying that the 'libbies' won't use this mess as an excuse to shove through many deplorable parts of their agenda. But I am personally insulted that you put the word "scare" in quotation marks, implying it is not a scare. I have a personal friend who is likely going to die from this. DarkOz already has had a friend pass on.

Thankfully, the eastern part of the state is where most of the people live and land can’t vote.

This timeline is not 100% accurate, but it points out important numbers as far as how pandemics can be more deadly than war.

People need to take social distancing seriously.

The Spanish Flu and earlier plagues show how much a single pandemic can wipe out vast swaths of the population.

Well I apologize that you felt that way after reading my post, but I don't understand why you would be insulted that I believe the country is being unnecessarily scared into a lockdown and thinking they're gonna die if they get this virus.

Just so you know, I had an elderly 81 year old relative die after getting the flu 8 years ago, but I didn't go around scaring people into staying home for 2 months and giving up their jobs & small businesses. I also had a 62 year old relative die of prostate cancer 5 years before that, but again I didn't go around scaring people into into a lockdown and believing that they're gonna of cancer even though cancer has killed a hell of a lot more people than this virus. So yeah, I would have opposed a phony "scare" in those cases too.

I won't ask how much you make, but I assume you're pretty well off. Just so you know, there are people out there that aren't so well off and live paycheck to paycheck. They're hurting right now because they have no income and I think they're being unnecessarily scared by idiot politicians whose families are eating just fine.

There are also people out there who own small businesses that they spent their entire lives building, and they may lose those businesses again because of politicians that basically just established a police state in places like California and Michigan. So yeah, I think the whole thing is overblown, and I have dead family members in my past too!!

Yep, that's another tactic by the libbies. They'll look at a guy who had diabetes, heart disease, and emphysema but they'll blame the death on the Chinese virus if the guy happened to die after coughing a few times from the virus!! So disingenuous!!
