It may be splitting hairs, but I do not consider cigar smoking nearly as bad a decision as cigarette smoking. The risk of death or serious illness is far less with normal cigar use. I knew Obama smoked cigarettes, but a previous poster implied both Bushes and Carter and Ford and Clinton were smokers too? I don’t think any of them were cigarette smokers. I’m willing to be corrrcted if I’m wrong.

Bush43 did not drink so I might assume he did not smoke cigarettes.

Cigar smoking is different in that most people these days that have cigars just have one socially. I do not think there are many Lee Iacocca 3 cigar a day types left.

Obama would be the first POTUS to come of age after it was clear cigarettes were bad for your health. He would not be old enough to remember when cigarettes could make health claims in ads, and age 8-9 when the last TV ad aired on "The Tonight Show." IOW, he would really have had to know better.
The President is a fink.

The dude who said that was like, what, 7 years old when Bush was elected? I don't even think he was born when Clinton was elected. He must have just heard some libbie propaganda and went with it. 🙄

Trump claims to never have smoked or drank alcohol. (I tend to believe him on this because of his brother).

Obama smoked cigarettes and now chews nicotine gum and lozenges.

George W. Bush and his wife smoked cigarettes (and cigars)

Clinton smoked cigars very famously. (cigarettes when he was younger).

Father Bush smoked cigars (and cigarettes when he was younger).

Reagan smoked cigarettes. (He even did cig ads when he was young and still an actor).

Jimmy Carter did not smoke cigarettes but as said pretty much his whole family did while in (I think he chewed tobacco, but that is not 100% confirmed, but he was a farmer...).

Ford smoked a pipe and cigarettes.

Nixon smoked cigarettes and cigars.

Johnson smoked cigarettes and cigars.

Kennedy smoked cigarettes and "quit" to just smoke cigars.

General/President Eisenhower smoke cigarettes (A Lot of cigarettes, several packs a day reportedly since he started as a Cadet in West Point).

Truman smoked cigarettes and cigars

FDR smoked a lot of cigarettes (he basically made a fashion statement of it).

Herbert Hoover, is unknown, maybe smoked a pipe. One President that is hard to find info on.

Coolidge, is unknown, hard to find facts on, based on the time period he likely smoked a pipe or cigars. Another relatively under the radar Pres....

Warren G. Harding, smoked and chewed tobacco (this is actually where "smoke-filled room" originated regarding his election). He also chewed tobacco, famously he gave Thomas Edison a plug of chewing tobacco during a meeting which made Edison famously say "Harding is alright, any man who chews tobacco is alright"

Wilson smoked cigarettes and cigars.

Taft smoked cigars but quit halfway through his term.

Going back further it is harder to document since many people chewed or smoked so it was not really talked about or newsworthy or before pictures. We know Lincoln smoked a pipe. President/General Grant chain smoked cigars (its probably what killed him along with being an alcoholic).

Most of the founding fathers are presumed to smoke a pipe and/or chew. Many of the founding fathers also grew tobacco.....
There is also a period of many Presidents in the late 1800s that not much is known about (as they were relatively historically or socially insignificant as far as presidents go so there is limited data.....)

Cigarettes (in the modern sense) did not really exist until the late 1800- early 1900s, and did not get popular until WWI (when packaging and mass rolling made it easier to ship them out), so earlier Presidents technically "did not smoke cigarettes", but smoking was done with pipe, cigars, or the use of smokeless tobacco (chew, dip, or nasal snuff).

So yes, most Presidents used some form of tobacco or nicotine products. Trump may be the only President to have never even tried tobacco (if he is to be believed)..... Many Presidents used tobacco while in office. And, virtually all used it at some point in their life.....
(Teddy Roosevelt did not smoke, and was against tobacco, but his father used to force him to smoke cigars when he was younger to make him a man, so he did technically at one point use tobacco)…..

Many of the Presidents in the last 50 years were conscious about their image so they did not allow themselves to get photographed while using tobacco (there were some exceptions who did not care or used it as a fashion statement).

Also, why are they so sure it will be Stacey Abram? I know she's a possibility, but that's about it.

All Trump's kids say he drove
them nuts growing up with
his anti smoking/drinking/drugs
stance. He never let up about it
and good for him. He raised
some pretty amazing children.

He has five kids from three different women. He hasn’t raised one of them. The wives do all the raising. He’s too busy barebacking porn stars while they’re at home nursing.

Depends what you mean by 'raise'. Of course in most families the women do most of the 'chores' of raising the children, but the man is certainly involved and usually a role model. Trump's kids definitely were influenced by him, at least as far as politics and work ethic. And desire for the limelight. Despite not barebacking any porn stars, I was busy at work while my then wife was home raising our kids. But I would certainly take offense if you implied I didn't also raise my kids.

Did you ever change your kids’ diapers?

I remember seeing an interview with him years ago talking about how he never did for his kids.

I must have! But I have little to no distinct memories..... I wonder if the super rich with nannies 24/7 ever have the father change the diaper?

I read Susan Rice may be on the short list. She apparently had a good working relationship with Biden.
