Obama was 45% on this date in 12. Rasmussen has him at 51%, a golden number. Presidents with 45% or higher do not lose elections.  If you take a risk, you may lose. But the graft at the top regardless of which party sits at the throne has bankrupted our country. Things are in the works now for a new currency. America had a good and enjoyable for most run, but it could have lasted a lot longer if people weren't, you know, people. I'm watching some docu's on the war going on in Azerbaijan and Armenia the last few nights, oddly enough the battle I'm watching is from 500 B.C., but in the world news tonight, the very same people are fighting now. Back then it was all about leaders, wanting to harvest the excess spoils created at the hands of those that would toil, while royalty lived in palaces and had the finest in foods and wines. It's not uncomfortable if you're on the upper tiers and harvesting the fruit born by the toilers, but greed always gets it's way. This new century will belong to Asia, and when we have crooks at the top who care more about living in luxury than administrating the rule of the land for benefit of the serfs, those that's got, gets. Same as it ever was. You are mostly right, people mostly just care about themselves. I think not caring is a distinct advantage. It's just business, no different than Exxon or General dynamics. You get up to the top of a heap of money, you are standing on some skulls.
