The middle ground on this discussion is a simple fundamental assumption that there are very few situations (or policy topics) in which an Elected Official does something 100% perfectly or 100% incorrectly.

I guess a breakthrough on this would be, in response to RonC's position that Biden could have done much better, to probe for details as to what Biden was supposed to do differently and make statements or ask for RonC's opinion of what aspects that Biden did handle well.

Again, if we operate on the assumption that very few matters are handled 100% right or 100% wrong, then anything in the middle of that range is up for discussion.

Sanders Running for Dem Nomination = Snowball's Chance in Georgia.

Except Bernie would have been the Nominee in 2020 if the DNC hadn't cut his knees off, again.
It was clear that the backroom agreement with ButtBoy was to withdraw before Super Tuesday in exchange for a Cabinet Postion.
Klobachar was told to do what is best for the party and withdraw because she knew Bernie/Socialism would lose in the General.
These two withdrawals put The House Plant over the top against Bernie as the center lane was down to just the Ficus Tree.

DNC did the same thing in 2016 with the Super Delegate situation that put Hillary in the driver's seat despite the popular primary vote.

Dems know their Left Wing Socialist Agenda of "Cradle to Grave"/Pre-K to Hearing Aids/Vision Care isn't popular with Americans.
Put the "Moderate House Plant" in as a candidate and then try and cram down Socialism with a 50/50 Senate & Reconciliation.
Too bad they didn't factor in Manchin & Sinema. Manchin is not favoring more spending after today's inflation numbers, LMAO.
The Dems are so stupid to believe this plan would. Their intentions to fundamentally change America are clear to everyone now.
in 2022 they'll get punished for it. VIrginia was just the beginning of the backlash, yet only Carvill seems to have gotten the message.
Nancy loses her job over it, Schumer loses his job and The House Plant gets pruned into irrelevance.

Bernie would have lost the general.

I'm not so confident of that. We'll never know, and I always thought Biden would be the best choice to beat Trump, but I'd only call Trump a prohibitive favorite against Bloomberg or Harris, neither of whom had a chance of getting nominated anyway.

Even if I grant that as true, (which I don't automatically) it still doesn't mean that Sanders most likely path to the Presidency isn't by way of the Democratic nomination. If he runs TPC, then he just splits the Left vote between the Moderates and Far Left...and I think that everyone on the left (including Sanders) would agree that objective #1 was simply to beat Trump.

Also, I don't pretend to have any deep insight into the motivations of African-American voters, but it is my tendency to think of them as not being quite so Far Left as your, "Woke," college crowd, for the most part. When you combine that with a pre-existing affinity for Biden (carryover from when he was Obama's Veep), then you see results such as South Carolina where Biden just obliterated Sanders in the percentage of African-Americans he carried.

Sanders doesn't seem particularly popular amongst African-Americans, which I think is actually owing to his Far Left Economic policies, though I could be wrong. My tendency to believe that also comes from the fact that Clinton would demoralize Sanders in percentage of the African-American vote going back to the 2016 primaries...which were all but blatantly gaffed for Clinton anyway.

Still, the fact remains that Sanders doesn't do particularly well in that demographic, so I don't know how much about the rest of the 2020 process was getting hosed vs. how much of it was early and largely white vote primary states making him look a LOT stronger than he actually was nationwide.

If Buttigieg doesn't drop out---I don't know, but I don't think Biden gained much in the way of African-American results by way of Buttigieg's withdrawal. Either way, candidates dropping out hoping for (or handshake deal) Cabinet positions is hardly uncommon. I think everything about the 2020 Primary, one way or another, was going to lend itself to pitting the perceived strongest Moderate against the perceived strongest Far Left. There were several calls for Warren to drop out early, for instances, to consolidate the Far Left vote with Sanders.

As far as the plan goes, I think they may have been hoping for more solid control of the Senate. You're probably tired of hearing it by now, but a West Virginia Democrat is just a different word for, "Moderate Republican."

0.000001% is a percentage, I guess.

Might as well criticize Biden for not being able to grow wings and fly to the moon.

Exactly

NJ Democrat Senate President Steve Sweeney Concedes to Republican Truck Driver Ed Durr

About time. Sweeney has been there 20 years and ran a multimillion-dollar campaign. Ed Durr didn't even have a website and he still beat the guy. This is the kind of thing that throws Democrats into a cold sweat with an election year coming up. Sweeney was one of the most powerful Democrats in New Jersey and he was easily beaten by a nobody truck driver in a totally Blue State. This shows you how deathly sick and tired everybody is of this woke BS nonsense. Nobody but a teeny tiny part of the population wants it, the rest of us just want to lead normal lives and not be told how we're supposed to think and feel about everything. Even James Carvel says being woke is being stupid.

You guys have missed the point on convincing people to get the vaccine. Voters the Democrats count on--Blacks and Latinos--are at 32.41% and 35.55% fully vaccinated compared to 59% of the entire population.

You a lot of time denigrating anti-vaxxers but what about the simply vaccine-hesitant? I know plenty of them who have come around and gotten vaccinated. That is the population I am talking about the President working to lead to the vaccines instead of just screaming at them.

He can make a difference. He chooses not to do so. It is not like he is very busy according to his published schedules. Maybe miss a nap.

The position of not caring about people seems awfully callous towards...well, you figure it out...
