There was something going on with crude oil when futures dropped below zero per barrel.

But it was an artificial glut opposite to an artificial shortage.

Likely some government disturbed the normal supply and demand (if there is one with a cartel price fixing).

Interesting that price fixing is legal in some instances but others it's illegal.

If you don't want government interference, then you should live with the fact that people may willfully buy non-american goods when they're cheaper. Or that industry won't automictically make sure there are enough microchips made in the USA when car manufacturers suddenly have to limit or stop production. Or that baby formula's companies may not stop production when some babies die in order to meet demand without a proper inspection for the source, and so on.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

Your grocery store sucks
Everything was stocked when I shopped today as you can see from the pics I took today

well, like I say, the kind of report you'd make to your commissar ... or if you are just determined to deny things

After all, the website was prompted to make the article ... and it's just about grocery items. Posted again below, about 10 things in short supply, updated Jan 31st

Chickpeas, Wheat, Sugar, Avocados, Paper Goods, Canned Goods, Eggs and Meat, Pet Food, Baby Formula, and Liquor
https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/food-shortages/

I really do wonder if someone is a Lefty, they aren't predisposed to 'not complain about shortages' because instinctively you know it's going to happen with your boys trying so hard to make it happen. There should only be one brand of coffee on the shelf anyway, according to Socialist theory.

I decide with my eyes
Either I can buy it or I can't. The internet is worthless in this regard
The headline said I "MIGHT" not find some items.
Found them all
If an article starts with "might" , it's probably just filling space for new content

I'm against socialism
I'm all in on capitalism
I take it issue by issue
WH is looking into rent control. I'm against
Personally, I see no shortages and its absurd to blame it on socialism when capitalism rules in this country

How about that coffee selection. Publix knows it's customers like quality coffee

We are getting creeping socialism. Some of the shortages just result in high prices, you can buy things if you don't mind coughing up the dough. Like a dishwasher that costs maybe 33% more just because of the government's demand to make them 'their way'

Then when people complain, send out Joe Biden to accuse the companies of greed

Meanwhile, keep up your plans for creeping socialism. Initiate forms of central planning. What the Left has learned is, what they can get away with now is demanding this central planning on the basis of, well, whatever they can dream up. Currently, citing saving the planet seems to work well. Citing racism goes over well, but you have to restrict what you want to education so far, looks like. As people complain about the shortages and high prices, tell them we need more central planning to fix it. And send out Joe Biden again.

you sound like you should be a little upset at the Left's plan for the US to eventually eliminate nearly all internal combustion vehicles?* There's some Central Planning for you. That bugging you?

* there is a big push from the Left to get us all to go the California way, no more sold by 2035

Gas vehicles are not going anywhere
Confident they will dominate sales till my death
I love my truck
There is no central planning
Just a mish mash of ideas trying to make a better world
Some make sense, some are BS

I think one state went the opposite direction by opposing California, in regards to gasoline for vehicles.

But yeah, anytime the government interferes is artificial.

If you make that decision, make sure you have the green capacity.

It'll take 100 years to have that capacity IMO.
