As of Thursday California is going back to the mandatory mask inside every building mandate. Whether you've been vaccinated or not if you are in a public building you have to wear a mask. That didn't take long. One problem is they believed too many vaccinated people have the virus and they're not showing any symptoms but they are spreading it. There has been a major uptick the number of new cases 48 states since last week.

How come you never hear this mentioned on the news. If you are black or Latino you have more than a 250% chance of dying of covid-19 then if you are white or Asian. And if you're Native American it's 350%. More than twice as many blacks and Latinos have died of covid than Whites. I don't remember seeing this stat in the headlines lately.

The local news at 6 p.m.? If you go looking for something specific you can find that Hitler is still alive and well in South America. Is that news? In your world, probably.

My wife had the trip from hell this weekend. Her family reunion that I quit going to years ago was Saturday. Her and six of her relatives rode together 4 hours in each direction and it turns out the one sister in the back row who has not been vaccinated yet that was coughing and sniffling tested positive for covid today. She got it from her daughter who got it from church. Everybody else in the vehicle was vaccinated but today my wife is sick. She's been around the sister that has covid-19 all week at various events. My wife has a sore throat and an elevated fever. Now the entire family is in a state of shock and nobody knows who has what because there were 70 people at the reunion some were vaccinated and some were not. Thank God I quit going years ago.

Thanks.
Your wife CHOSE the trip from hell.

It reads like an instruction manual for how to get antibodies the nasty way. Does your wife never listen to your sage advice? Did you ever discuss covid together?

I think somebody mentioned that family get-togethers are a serious infection vector. And church services ( You mentioned a church infection recently ) And something about sharing confined spaces like cars? Someone else might have mentioned about not being a complete [Insert extremely expletive noun ] and staying home if you have a cough, and I'm sure there was something in the news about other ways of minimizing the risk.

Sounds like none of those folks was concerned enough. 70 people at the reunion. Not a problem. very few of them are likely to die. Nobody important, and nobody should be surprised.

May they develop the antibodies that the deserve, Could do with some of them setting an example.

Thank God we are both atheists and that neither of us lives with your wife $:o)

Are you going to be her carer, now or are you going to tell her that she was stupid to ignore your advice and that she made her own bed and to stay the hell away till she recovers or dies?

Stay safe.... Or not, as you see fit.

I saw, "Family reunion," and would automatically take a pass on that. Covid has nothing to do with it.

Luckily my family is to small for a reunion. I do not think there are 20 people left from my dad's side. My mother's side even less. Most of my once-removed cousins I have never met. Most of my first cousins I have seen maybe once in 20 years. It is worse for one of my cousins who has 0 left on his dad's side, if I were him I would have really pursued the foreign service test.

Both sides combined, I have met fewer than twenty people, lifetime.
