I mean, if it's a fair argument---and I think it would be---that a POTUS who unites the country is arguably a good reason to put him near the top, then would it not also be fair for a POTUS who some might suggest alienated at least a good 40% of the country might be a strike against him?

I'm not saying that such a thing, by itself, is a good reason to put him near the bottom, and I also maintain my position that I think he has been POTUS too recently to even rank all-time, but just that it can't be ignored as part of the package that was his Presidency when that time does come.

Not really. South Carolina (and a few others) seceded before he even took office, for one thing. Also, I literally said in my post that it shouldn't be based entirely on bringing people together v. being divisive---just that it's a factor.
