…and before anyone chimes in with their usual stupid silliness, the attack on the Capitol is worse than not defending it.

I just think both are unforgivable in their own ways.

Also, before anyone says that the rioters were let in, it would be one thing for a perfectly peaceful protest without threats, violence, looting, storming areas, breaking things, etc. to have happened rather than what happened. Still many prosecutions but not the same level. No one lets you in for you to destroy their house.

Interesting. They did not ask him about certain things that he might not have answered; probably agreed upon before his testimony?

Also, there was some word salad tossed out about the testimony not contradicting but not confirming other testimony.

They will gin it up all nice and pretty for the showboat hearings but this is a farce committee, not a real Congressional investigation.

Republicans are at fault by not suggesting Republican members not involved in some aspect with Jan 6 events.

It is tradition that the Minority Leader pick whoever he wants to put on a committee. All of the events on 1/6 were not illegal. “Some aspect” is pretty broad. You can take that to mean anyone impacted by the events. The Speaker wanted a show and TV production, not just to find the truth.

Why did she allow a known liar like Schiff on the Committee?

Like fillibuster exceptions and other rules changes, these things almost always eventually come back against the party that acts first. That is why it is usually best to follow tradition. The Chair still has control.

Obviously, i don't mean everyone in the Capitol building who were all impacted. You don't put people even allegedly involved in an illegal activity on an investigating panel. Better partisan crap, than absolute crap.

Really Schiff, only congress member for lying you can think of.

..if you ever watch any hearing, there always congress members alleging the worst take possible on the other party. That's common. Schiff did nothing worse than what is common.

He’s a weasel. There are a lot of weasels up there; he just is one of the worst. On a committee of nine people. Pelosi could have found a better Dem to appoint than him.

I believe there are a number of right leaning congress perfectly happy with Democrats taking the heat or blame as long as they don't have to publicly condemn Trump and potentially become a target that might hurt them politically with some supporters.

New evidence expected at hearing. Committee has encrypted messages between Trump allies and members of extremist groups, I’m told. And committee expected to show Pat Cipollone discussing December 2020 meeting where Trump allies discussed ways to overturn election, per sources

Liz Cheney says that after the last hearing, Trump attempted to call a witness in their investigation, "a witness you have not yet seen in these hearings." She says they declined to answer but told their lawyer who then alerted the committee. The committee, in turn, told the DOJ.
