I can't argue with that..... well 'We brits' had little say in the matter. The most recent leaders were chosen and appointed by their party without being subject to a national vote.

Our last two Prime Ministers were unelected by the population and the two before them came to power unelected after the incumbent got dumped by a vote of no confidence.

I don't rate any of our recent PM's very highly, but they were all under 61, experienced politicians and with some level of education and integrity.

Rishi Sunak is an uncontroversial office holder, who's biggest recent cock-up was a covid misjudgement giving tax breaks to the hospitality industry. It's really not an issue that he's an ethnic Indian, non-Christian. Like yourselves, we mostly look for prudent management of the economy over all else. Rishi appointed a very skilled Chancellor of the Exchequer who undid the damage of Liz Truss and is a safe pair of hands.

Before him, Liz Truss was naive and slap dash in managing the economy which she royally f'd up. She didn't last. Her damage to the economy was enormous.

Boris was a dork. A good orator with bad judgement and zero integrity.

Before him, Cameron who stuffed up by having Brexit referendum.

Between them, they've muddled along, which is as good as we can expect.

Next election we will be getting a mostly untested socialist government and prime minister.

With our system, the PM is always the same party as the majority party in the House of Commons. That lets things get done.

We never get too much controversy from our leaders. The biggest recently was Boris breaking lockdown rules while we were all following his restrictions.

If I express a strong opinion of your Political system, it's not a claim that ours is better. I'm just filled with incredulity at what your system has thrown up.

Trump is a former President currently under indictment in 4 jurisdictions and he's running for President again. And he's a threat to freedom, civil rights and democracy, Hildog is none of those things.

Yes, he is a former President, and is running for President currently (and as of today is the projected nominee for the GOP.) The fact that the right is afraid about eyes on Trump is telling.

Acting like Trump has no relevance in the GOP is just bizarre. He is probably the most relevant member of the GOP (you can even argue the only relevant member.)
