I do think you have to have seen Rocky IV to appreciate it. However, it isn't just a sequel to Rocky IV but there are many other story lines going on. I think it is the most complex and deep Rocky/Creed movie to date. I can't help but say that the boxing plots are very reminiscent of both Rocky III and IV. I think the writers knew that and added stories that were connected but went beyond boxing. Personally, I found the story of the relationship between Drago and his son to be the most compelling. Yup, very well done. My compliments to all involved. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

There's goes any hope of story quality out the window. You can't make good movies on an assembly line. I could only sit thru 45 min of the first Avatar and found myself rooting for the humans, so I gave up. Just saw Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Not bad, a lot of humor to balance the heavy handed archetypal theme. God and his son, really? If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Eh? Does Avatar really have that strong a fan base? Didn't leave any lasting impression on me. It will really have to have super strong reviews for me to go see a sequel of it in the theater. Which would mean it has to be better than the first one. You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really? |

When the first one came out, James Cameron announced immediately that they were going to make three sequels. He has only expanded by one extra movie. There was a lot less motivation to make the two Matrix sequels at once and have them open them less than 6 months apart (May 15, 2003 and November 5, 2003). Number of domestic tickets sold 95,917,600 Avatar 33,755,900 The Matrix 46,695,900 The Matrix Reloaded 23,095,400 The Matrix Revolutions |

I would. He hasn't directed or produced a movie since Avatar, except one 8 years ago. Why is that. So he's going back to a movie nobody cares about that was done 10 years ago? We'll see. I hated Avatar, lot of hype and it was all CGI.. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

And before Avatar (the biggest movie of all time) he hadn’t directed a movie in 12 years... Titanic (the 2nd biggest movie of all time). “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

His given name, half-breed, Prince?, Fish man, something master. Then all of sudden out of nowhere at the end he declares himself Aquaman? Where did that come from? But Titanic wasn't a sequel, Avatar is. 4 of them. The orig story sucked, it was way too new age'y and cornball. What can the sequels say that the orig didn't, except to repeat itself. Oh, and I walked out on Titanic and left my wife there. It was gagging me with dripping sentimentality. Luckily we take separate cars to movies for just this reason. Used to, I don't go anymore. At this point, I don’t even know what you’re trying to argue: the Avatar sequels won’t be successful because they’re sequels? Riiight. We all know how sequels to massive hits usually bomb. Just look at Star Wars Ep. 7 & 8, all the Marvel movies, etc.... All huge money losers for Disney. /sarcasm “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |
