Click grossed $237 million world wide, $137 million of that in the US. It does make you realize that good doesn't always sell.

It wasn't that bad, and it made a few good points. In fact, were it not for the sappy scenes in the "future" near the ending, which were clichéd, predictable and overly sentimental, it would have been an ok movie.

Spotlight, a movie about the Vatican cover up
of pedophile priests, just won the Academy
Award for best picture. Amazing. Does anybody
really believe the Church EVER would have got
this under control on their own if the press
hadn't exposed it? Big rug, big broom, just
keep on sweepin. It's what Jesus would do..

LOL! So bad it won 5 big Academy Awards.
Best picture, supporting actor, director, editing,
sound. 3 Golden Globes for picture, director,
actor. It won so many awards I can't list them
all. I saw it at least three times in the theater.

Mad Max: Fury Road took six Oscars last night.

I finally saw the third modern Batman movie. It wasn't the worst Batman movie ever, but it wasn't for lack of trying. The only good point was Anne Hathaway's performance as Selina Kyle.

Based on positive comments on this and the WoV site, I picked up the Blu Ray of the 2009 release, "Moon" that starred Sam Rockwell
(and I suppose, also co-starred Sam Rockwell)
.

As space sci-fi movies go, this one had a slow developing story, (like "2001: A Space Odyssey", or "Silent Running") , and a plot that was a little hard to believe, since the movie plays as a realistic drama set in the near future (like the recent Matt Damon film, "The Martian").

Sam Rockwell plays "Sam", the lone caretaker of a commercial mining operation based on the surface of the Moon. His only companion is basically, a robotic "arm" that moves around the station suspended from a track in the ceiling, and is programmed to run things, and help him like HAL in 2001, but looking more like the ship's computer in Pixar's "Wall-E". Sam is coming to the end of his three-year contract, and looking forward to heading home where he can actually interact with his wife and young daughter. Unfortunately, life threatening plot complications arise, and he must figure a way out of them.

The movie is cleverly put together and uses miniatures instead of CGI special effects to accomplish some of the key exterior shots. I thought this was very cool, and was my favorite part of the movie (even though some of the shots were recycled), as it reminded me of the old Gerry Anderson television shows, "Space 1999" and "Thunderbirds".

I would only recommend this movie if someone really enjoyed 2001. The story is more a character drama than a showcase of scientific gadgetry. Unfortunately, with very few characters, even including the computer, either you connect with them or you don't. I didn't, perhaps because the plot holes, some big enough to drive a moon rover through, took me out of the story. However, others might relate to Sam and feel differently about the sensibility of the choices he makes to resolve his problems.

I give the film three Thunderbirds out of five.

I saw the trailer for Deadpool. How has this
crap made $700 million already. The dialog
is childish and sounds like it was done off
camera in a sound studio. 7th grade humor,
but a lot of the F word, so it's not for kids.
I don't get it.

You nailed it exactly. It's not aimed at your age group. At all. In any way.

So awful movies are made for other age groups?
Where they use the F word a lot? Right.. I thought
Titanic sucked, what age group was that aimed
at.
