This is making up out of nothing a statement of fact, which is illogical and fantasy. .

I see no logic or proof or evidence for
the Land of Oz, but gee, that doesn't
mean it's not a real place. Nobody is
looking for the Fountain of Youth
anymore, but nobody has proved it
doesn't exist, why aren't they looking.

Because when lack of proof and evidence
is so overwhelming, like it is for gods
existence, you just find better things to
do than waste your life on nonsense.

If you left out the part I have italicized you would be correct. However, you cannot continue to go about saying the evidence for God's existence is like the evidence for the Land of Oz without looking like a stubborn fool who just won't allow himself to truly look a the logical and philosophical arguments, the arguments from modern science, the historical evidence, the physical evidence, the countless personal testimonies, the evidence from miracles, etc. If and when the Land of Oz, the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, or any of the other silly examples you choose to use have any of the above in their favor you can use them as a comparison until then you left with just your illogical and unsupported believe that there is no God and no way to provide any evidence for it. I'm sorry, but that is just the facts.

Us fools are in good company. Fools like
Einstein, Asimov, Sagan, Hawking, Freud,
Joe Campbell, Edison, the list is long and
distinguished. Look it up sometime. I'm
proud to be among these 'fools'.

You get to be on the list with Jimmy Swaggart,
Jim Bakker, and Pat Robertson. How exciting
for you..

First of all people can be very smart in some areas and fools in others. Hawking is a brilliant in astrophysics but probably a fool in surgery. These are brilliant men, but if they really didn't believe in God, and for some of those you mentioned there is a real question about that, then they show themselves to be fools in philosophy, logic, and certainly theology. Look there is no logical or reasonable reason to be an atheist.

Please remember that the list of Theists is longer than the space available on this website and it includes many, many more brilliant and amazing people.

Smart people are fools far less of the time.
I'll take their company over that of Jim
Bakker and Billy Graham any time. Or
any pope, for that matter.

I wonder if that is true.

You think they win awards for screwing up?
Newton made a fool of himself over religion,
he spent far too much time on it and got
nowhere. But that was the times he lived in,
he's a fool by today's standards only.
