Original Sin?

But why should I be, that's the whole point. The Church presents itself as the moral arbiter for the whole world. It's the place that decides what's right, good, and proper for everybody else. And for hundreds of years it went around enforcing that authority, the authority that came right from your god, or so you said. Of course we hold such an organization to a higher standard. So would you if you weren't up to your neck in apologizing for it. You think I would care if it was Norway or General Motors that had such a past? I care because the Church still has the same lofty opinion of itself, they still consider themselves holier than thou, and they constantly need to be reminded that they have a past that is a horror story. There is no god, it's just ego centered men making up stories to advance their greed and power by enslaving the minds of the ignorant.
That's kind of what you get paid to do, duh. In fact I asked Ed that very question on Friday. I said why does the priest continue to defend the indefensible past of his Church. Ed says that what priests are taught to do, it's part of their job. He did it for 5 years when he was a priest. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Last time I checked the Catholic Church is about guiding and teaching those who are Catholic how to live a holy and moral life. Now what it teaches is truth, but it claims no authority over the freedom of people who are not Catholic to think and live as they see fit.
I agree that it should be held to a higher standard and I'm glad you do. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

And in the days when the Church held all the power you know damn well what happened to you if you spoke out about that truth in any negative way.
But you don't. You constantly justify the Church's past with all kinds of twisty and turny logic and deflections. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I hold the Church to a MUCH higher standard than you do. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

No, you hold the rewriting of Church history to be your main priority. Almost impossible to do now, too much of really happened has been written about and researched for far too long. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

You have no interest in really learning what happened all you want is to exaggerate the failings and look past the good. You can still do this because you don't look at the real research and true history you are content with internet sites with an axe to grind and modern myths. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

As long as that historical understanding comes from the Vatican. Yes, we totally understand where you're coming from, no need to explain. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Not from the Vatican and certainly not from the awful sources you are brainwashed by. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

I know exactly where you're coming from, every time you say the info I have is wrong, you always direct me to a Catholic approved site. Every time. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Anyway, since the sites you link to and the craziness you spout claims to speak for and about the Church I thought you would appreciate hearing from those who know what they are talking about. My bad. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |
