I loved Two Men until the kid got too big. The first 6 seasons were genius, I bet I've seen them all 10 times at least. Still funny. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I do not know how they generate enough cash to pay those salaries for Modern family. Jim Parsons is getting paid to produce and do the voice overs for Young Sheldon as well, cementing his position as the top paid TV star. 16.511 Roseanne (renewed) ABC 14.192 The Big Bang Theory (renewed) CBS 13.122 NCIS (renewed) CBS 12.689 Young Sheldon (renewed) CBS 11.135 This Is Us (renewed) NBC 10.559 Bull CBS 9.774 The Good Doctor (renewed) ABC 9.207 Blue Bloods CBS 8.891 NCIS: New Orleans CBS 8.819 Mom (renewed) CBS 8.559 Hawaii Five-0 CBS 8.484 Instinct CBS 7.991 NCIS: Los Angeles CBS 7.708 Grey's Anatomy ABC 6.960 MacGyver CBS 6.835 Chicago Med NBC 6.782 SEAL Team (renewed) CBS 6.608 Life in Pieces CBS 6.530 Kevin Can Wait CBS 6.404 Chicago PD NBC 6.368 Little Big Shots NBC 6.318 9-1-1 (renewed) FOX 6.204 Madam Secretary CBS 6.062 Chicago Fire NBC 6.028 SWAT (renewed) CBS 5.953 Man With a Plan CBS 5.929 The Middle (ending) ABC 5.922 Law & Order: SVU NBC 5.860 Empire FOX 5.835 Modern Family (renewed) ABC <------------------------------------------- 5.750 The Blacklist NBC 5.738 Criminal Minds CBS 5.695 The Goldbergs (renewed) ABC 5.500 Will & Grace (renewed) NBC |

At the very least, the Sarah Hyland character will probably get a spin off series. |

Nobody on the show is good enough for a spin off except Ty Burrell. I can't imagine what he would do, though. He's perfect as the goofus American husband, even better than Bryan Cranston was in Malcolm.. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

It's winding down. Some jokes on current episodes that would have been hilarious earlier on feel tired today. Example: Penny: I can't believe my best friend would side with Sheldon. Leonard: I can't believe my best friend is Sheldon! Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Ty Burrel was in the second Marvel cinematic Universe movie a decade ago as Doc Samson. They have never recast the character so I'm sure they are holding the part for him.
Sitcoms traditionally wind down. Roseanne lost half over half her audience dropping from #1 to #35 before she was cancelled in 1997. Although a lot of jokes on TBBT are getting stale, it is still ranked on top after all these years. Johnny Galecki appeared on 92 episodes of Roseanne. |

Wizard Administrator Member since: Oct 23, 2012 Threads: 239 Posts: 6095 | I don't think I have enough to say on this for a whole thread at WoV so I'll bring it up here. In the last episode of TBBT, Sheldon went to Las Vegas, hoping to parlay $65,000 into a much larger amount to fund a science project. He is seen observing a roulette wheel when an employee in a suit approaches him. Then the following dialogue occurred, and I'm paraphrasing. Suit: Can I help you? Sheldon: No thanks. I have been studying this roulette wheel for several hours and I'm finally ready to bet. I did a chi-squared analysis and have noticed that the wheel strongly favors the numbers 5, 17, and 32. So, if you'll excuse me, I want to bet the next spin... Suit: Pelican. Sheldon: Why did you say "pelican"? Two security guards then drag Sheldon from the table with rolled up wads of cash in his hand. Dealer: 17 Sheldon: Auuuughhh! Okay, where should I start? In the lengthy thread on the Organic Roulette Interblock experiment I lamented that for as many tests for randomness that there are, there are none that I'm aware of that are appropriate for testing for a biased roulette wheel well. The chi-squared test, which Sheldon did, is a good start, and is what I do, but it doesn't consider the order of the numbers. I might add that 32, 17, and 5 are consecutive on the wheel, so kudos to the writers for sharp writing. I'm not sure what my point is here and I have no particular question. The whole scene could be attacked on so many levels that I hate to get started on that. I at least appreciate the mention of the chi-squared test and the three numbers mentioned were consecutive. I can't think of any other show where I would trust them to get such details right. So, yeah, this is a rare time I don't have much to say, but I couldn't not bring up the topic. So how many viewers think it's possible and will try and do what Sheldon did. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
