Wolf King GT top speed is estimated at 63 mph Wolf King GT range is estimated at 74 miles Shaq has a 14 acre compound near Atlanta. He might not even be interested in taking his scooter out on public streets. |

We all know that most automakers are downsizing their engines to make them more fuel efficient. Toyota Division is getting rid of the last of their 8 cylinders although they sell some in the Lexus Division. The Toyota 4Runner is 4.0L 6 cylinder so it is on the top end of the 6 cylinder displacement scale. Do you think there will ever be an outright ban on vehicles over 6 cylinders? Or displacement over 4.0L. This Bugatti Chiron has 12 cylinders and displaces 8L. It costs $3,825,000 and there are just 9 of them . |

Huh? Sixteen cylinders, not twelve. My Ferrari had twelve, and this beast would eat if for lunch. Ah, but does size matter? The six cylinder Porsche 918 Spyder is a tick quicker 0-60. |

I do not see a ban, at least not in the USA. Americans have turned their backs on the V-8. A few holdouts remain, but no car needs one anymore. Just a few trucks do. Other things being equal you are better with fewer cylinders. Exotics used to have V-12s but with displacement lower than the old big blocks. Lotus used to have the position that they did it with smaller engines. Will an exotic maker decide to do it with a 6 that gets the power of a 12? A L6 is simply half of a V-12. Save the weight! I have heard that larger L-4s are not the best idea. 500cc per cylinder is around ideal. Almost no vehicle needs more than a 4 these days, the market is taking care of it. The President is a fink. |

missedhervee Member since: Apr 23, 2021 Threads: 96 Posts: 3112 | Real world, top speed means nothing: when / where does your average car owner ever get a chance or have the balls to go that fast? No, the most valuable metrics are 0-60 and G forces when cornering. Bugattis are for posers; Porsches are for drivers who love to drive for the sheer hell of it. |

Pacomartin Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 1068 Posts: 12569 | The largest L-4s and H-4s being sold right now have an average of 700cc per cylinder There are also a lot of 6 cylinder vehicles with 500cc or more per cylinder.

I suspect you are correct as these are the biggest cylinder in 4 bangers on sale in 2022. Basically if it was useful to go bigger somebody would have done it. Bore & Stroke 94.0 mm & 100 mm = {694 cc per cylinder} 2,776 cc Chevy Colorado (2.8L I-4 Turbo-Diesel) turbocharged 237 hp and 259 lb-ft of torque. 95.5 mm & 102 mm = {731 cc per cylinder} 2,923 cc GMC Canyon (Vortec 2.9L I-4) 185 hp | 190 lb-ft @ 2800 rpm These are engine options on a Subaru Crosstrek compact SUV. A cylinder size of 500cc is the smallest engine Subaru makes and produces serviceable performance, but since it isn't turbocharged your not going to get a lot of power or torque. Bore & Stroke 84.0 mm & 90 mm = {499 cc per cylinder} 1,995 cc FB20D engine 152 hp | 145 lb-ft Subaru Crosstrek base trim 94.0 mm & 90 mm = {625 cc per cylinder} 2,498 cc FB25D engine 182 hp | 176 lb-ft Subaru Crosstek sport trim 99.5 mm & 79 mm = {614 cc per cylinder} 2,457 cc EJ253 engine 174 hp | 176 lb-ft Subaru Forester more than 10 years ago |
