Totally agree you need to listen to people. Listen to a wide variety of views and treat everything you hear with skepticism. The loudest and largest group is often not the right answer. If they developed their views from a cult where alternate views were not accepted and they had to conform then their views likely have little credibility. This is true whether it was a religious cult, the 'education' cult of most colleges now or a political cult be it the current socialist on our left or many of the extreme right. It is very difficult time to find unbiased information particularly with the MSM being so biased and only concerned about ratings and income not the 4th estate goal of shining a light on the dark areas of society.

Although there is a lot of justified criticism of carbon offset, that's mostly from jumble of organizations and not enough oversight. Some definitely don't do what they advertise to do. Areas outside the US are difficult to rely on and monitor. Methods of measurement are not always clear.

I'd guess Spielberg and Gates are probably interested in getting actual results from their investment since they're high profile advocates and have the kind of money to look into what is going on with their spent money.
