There is a difference between liking USA history and being upset about some aspects of it. The Untied States is by far the greatest nation of earth, do in a large part to its revolutionary formula when it was founded. This does not mean that we should not be critical of past separatist, pro-slavery advocates, racism, etc.... The fascinating thing about history is about how gray it is (there are rarely ever "good" and "evil" characters/factions like in fiction). Every country even "new" ones have plenty of skeletons in their closet and it is fair to highlight them to prevent from making the same mistakes. |
