Maybe the New York Times just has a murky understanding of these tax rules. In all fairness, we don't know all the facts and particular circumstances of this case. Though I would love to hear the innocent explanation for doing the thing that looks *exactly* like tax evasion. |

Free speech and religion is.... And, cities and public colleges can require organizations holding events, rallies, concerts, etc... to have insurance and sometimes contribute to a security fund (this is well established). My local city requires insurance and a security bond (including political rallies and religion things) for large events (I forget what the cutoff is in terms of numbers) in public parks, is this unconstitutional in your mind? Should their free speech trump the City's ensuring that they have money upfront in case something goes wrong? Guns should be no different. And, that is virtually the same proposal here (having insurance and contributing to a fund to carry your gun in public)..... |

There should be no insurance requirement on guns. Just another city trying to tax away the 2nd Amendment. It is bad enough you need an ID to buy a gun as it keeps minorities from being able to buy one. The President is a fink. |
