Dancing at the Jefferson Memorial is now illegal
Cops are busting people left and right
Lets say you hug you girlfriend, that's ok. Shuffle your feet a bit, that dancing. Busted
Walking is ok, but walk with a slight shuffle, dancing, arrested and busted
Stand still, ok, turn around, hey that's a twirl, a dance move, busted

Oh, the humanity... You got part of it right.
Would be nice if you had the whole story.
These people entered the park in 2011 to
protest a 2008 court ruling outlawing
dancing at the JM. They were arrested for
demonstrating without a permit, not for the
dancing itself. They were arrested and fined,
just as they should have been. I think it's
hilarious, they should have tased the assholes.

These people were videotaped last week, not 5 years ago
They had no idea there was a court case. They were not protesting, they made some dance moves thinking they were living in a free country
Here is the back story

It started in 2008 when some people at the Memorial celebrated Thomas Jeffersons birthday at his memorial by dancing. Just an innocent gesture celebrating a founding father. The Dancers were asked to leave by Park Police. The Dancers refused and were arrested. 1 dancer sued the Park Police on 1st amendment grounds and lost. The court ruled that dancing is forbidden at the memorial. A real bad decision. Since that video was posted above, there have been numerous flash mobs at the Jefferson Memorial dancing protesting the courts decision. During these flash mob dances, the Park Police is now shutting down the Jefferson Memorial and kicking everybody out, even if you are not dancing. Really absurd for a court to outlaw dancing. Really absurd to shut down a memorial simply due to dancing

Which is why .gov must be destroyed. May I say I am happy you've come to the realization, and welcome to the team =)

first clue Sherlock.

They were NOT busted for dancing! It was
for protesting without a license. Real people
dancing get warnings and then tickets,
not arrested. This is how stupid crap gets
started, because somebody like Terapined
gets all excited about something that isn't
even true because he won't take the time
to do the investigating.

China already had the Tiananmen Square court locked up, and Moscow has the theater. You get the justice you can afford.

This is SOOOOOOO typical of Liberals. You
never look anything up, you just hear a
story and want soooooo badly for it to be
true that you make up the details:

"These people were videotaped last week, not 5 years ago
They had no idea there was a court case. They were not protesting, they made some dance moves thinking they were living in a free country"

Pure bullshit, none of it is true. This is
why I trust NONE of what you say or
ams either. You have a an agenda and
will make crap up to fulfill it.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.
