A guily verdict is news
A lawyer saying they will appeal after a guilty verdict is not news because its standard operating procedure.

How can you telll if a lawyer is lying ?
His lips are moving :-)

I can only read B if somebody reposts his post. Otherwise blissfully unaware :-)

First let me say that whatever I say now or in the future don't take it to mean that I don't really care for Canada and Canadians, I love the place and the people. Just like here in the States it's generally the governments that aggravate me. With that caveat let me say.

Canada's central bank is the worst capitalized in the western world with less than .5% capitol reserves. They have done the same incredibly stupid things with housing as the US.

Largely a beautiful and pristine country is being destroyed by the tar sand extraction that can be seen from space. What is being done to your forests is sinful [as is done many places down here] with no plan to reforest. If the price of oil declines below around 82 $ per bbl, look out.

The oil sands occupies a great deal of Northern Alberta, in an area that represents about 1.5% of our country's total land. The other 98.5% trucks on. Not that I think it's bad (I do). And reforesting does happen. So go ahead and believe your propaganda.

And here is a retort to your zerohedge: Link.

You should be thankful that the earth isn't flat because you're so far left that you would have fallen off already. lol

Do you even know the definition of "spin"?? (Why do I bother asking? terapined doesn't even understand the definition of "marriage". *facepalm*)

FYI, if a lawyer makes a statement about a verdict, and a news reporter repeats that statement, that's not "spin". (Sometimes I wonder what planet you live on)

I am confused about your meaning?

The part specifically about believing propaganda, that term is starting to be over used. Were you referring to my entire post or the part about the tar sands or the central bank with less than 1/2% capital reserves?

edit; I just had time to read your retort. Maybe I am mistaken or just plain wrong? If you read and believe your retort, I guess our beliefs are pretty far apart at this time, maybe we can discuss something where we have more similarities?

The way I read the retort its [maybe your] belief is a bank doesn't need any capitol in reserve? So it is ok in that book to loan out or not have at its disposal ANY funds. None in the safe more than todays cash requirements do to customers check writing needs [sweeps]. I think that is almost a description of bankrupcy.

Are you aware that Canada has recently passed laws similar to what happened in Cypress? Where bail in's by confiscating the depositors money is now legal in lieu of a government bail out? So the bank can now legally call depositors money, cash reserves? I would think it would interest somebody.

Either I or the retort are seperated somewhat from reality, Take a look at what has happened with real estate prices in Canada [or the US]. Do you really think that houses have gone up that much in true value? When you print more money or currency into a system then it is worth, there is more money chsing the same amount of goods, the price of everything goes up. There is much semantics involved, we can call it inflation of the money supply mzm or [m3] just need to get on the same plain to discuss it. Apples to apples.

As I have tried to tell my adult kids, the price of oil doesn't go up and down do to the value of oil. It goes up and down because of the value of the money. Or [options trading, futures]. It is hard to speak in generalitie's and then get your ass torn off with specifics or some special interests. Que Bono

+1, LOL!

The sad thing though is that there are 65+ million terapineds who voted for Obama in 2012 and who will vote for whatever socialist the Dems nominate in 2016. Pretty darn sad, if you ask me. *facepalm*

Hey terapined, take a look at this:

Gay marriage supporters will appeal ruling on Louisiana ban
(FYI, multiple news outlets—including the LA Times, USA Today, New York Times, etc—have reported about this pro-gay marriage appeal)

According to your warped logic, isn't this an example of pro-gay marriage "spin"???????

*I don't really expect an answer from terapined. He'd rather block people instead of presenting sound, logical arguments. *facepalm*

Can you blast us when you're actually capable of logical arguments and maturity? It's quite certain to me, even Evenbob has you blocked. No offense meant to Evenbob, a valuable poster in my opinion.

Why the "unemployment rate" continues to be a pile of crap:

"A record 92,269,000 Americans 16 and older did not participate in the labor force in August, as the labor force participation rate matched a 36-year low of 62.8 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics."

"he 92,269,000 who did not participate in the labor force are those in the civilian noninstitutional population who did not have a job and did not actively seek one in the last four weeks. Because they did not seek a job, they did not count as “unemployed.”

http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/ali-meyer/record-92269000-not-labor-force-participation-rate-matches-36-year-low

"While unemployment nationwide is 6.1%, the unemployment rate for black Americans at 11.4% is more than double the rate for white Americans, who have an unemployment rate of 5.3%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)."

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/michael-w-chapman/white-unemployment-53-black-unemployment-114

This is not a new issue; it has been this way for years. If you drop people from the count, then the percentages look better. The unemployment rate can be higher and participation rate lower...and it will look like more people are unemployed, just as it now looks as if less people are unemployed in total.

I keep wondering about this. What happens to these people? Some surely go on the dole, but what about the rest? Some people just have a few hustles and get by. I know a few. I often wonder how they are counted?

If I tried I could put together enough side gigs notarizing, dealing, and driving to get by though not thrive. Is this what many have been reduced to?
