In the bizzaro world of anti-Catholic prejudice Bob views everything as simple and black and white. First of all, every victim is also offered assistance and support through counseling of their choice and other needs they may have. The problem that is clearly seen all over is that the Church did do something in these cases, but rarely if ever enough! They would investigate themselves and that is never a good idea. Just turn everything over to the authorities and let them investigate. What often isn't talked about is that when the State can't find anything the Church still investigates and afterwards often removes the priest.
The other thing to realize is the spike of abuse cases in the 60s through the beginning if the 90s. Before the secularization of society and the sexual revolution this child sexual abuse was not the awful and scandalous wound in the Church. After 2002 you can see that the abuse cases drop to nearly zero and the excellent polices the Church implemented should be the example for most institutions. Anyway the historical facts, which Bob doesn't seem to care about, do not warrant his doom and gloom fantasy about the Church during previous eras.
