Actually, it the same reason you would (I assume) try to vote out a liberal/progressive even if the laws were just as you liked them in your state.


Why would he need to make it a “welcoming place for gays?” What place of government is it to do that?

Why do gays need special treatment?

Who said it was special treatment to make any and all citizens welcome in the state by a governor as long as they are good citizens.

When someone says it is to make gays feel welcome. Not everyone, just gays.

That is special treatment. And who knows what in earth that is supposed to mean?

Not to be that guy, but in this example, yes.

I personally hate when States and Cities prioritize tourists and seasonal residents, over fulltime citizens. Yes, I know that comes with the territory of living in resorts and tourist focused places, but it is still scummy.

Coming temporarily is kind of the definition of tourism.

In any case tourism is a huge part of the Florida economy so they are going to make them feel welcome. What does that have to do with gays? And what is making gays feel welcome? Bathhouses and gay bars or something?

No it isn't. People come for business just like anywhere else. People come here to look for homes, stay during winter to escape the cold, and to look for a place to retire, or to just visit a relative.

Since my statement would have said, "Why doesn't DeSantis treat gays special" your question never had anything to do with anything I said.

Which is all forms of tourism.

And I still have yet to hear how Florida is unwelcoming to gays.
