Ehh last place I worked, to use tobacco (even nicotine products that are tobacco free) you had to pay I think 275 (or maybe 285) a month more for health insurance for single, no clue for family (and they actually did test for it).

Make dumb choices pay the price, you are a risk to insurance companies if you don't vaccinate, just like if you smoke. Higher risk = pay more or change your behavior....

If it's that important to you, you should be fine paying the extra premiums....

Where is the line Gandler?
Are you good with employers checking the height and weight of people as well?
Fatties & Obese people are higher risk of all kinds of disease and resulting higher medical costs.
Make stupid choices (eating like an idiot & not exercising) means paying higher prices. No difference right?
I actually am in favor of all of it because I think to a large degree you have a personal responsibility for your own health.
But personal responsibility for your own outcome isn't a popular theme on the Left.

If we are going to charge unvaxed for risk then the next logical thing is to charge women more for health insurance as they use more care. Fair is fair.

Looks okay to me. (bold is mine)

In the United States, about 500,000 men undergo a vasectomy whereas between 550,000 to 789,000 tubal ligations are performed yearly. Vasectomies are cheaper, faster, and safer than female sterilization, yet only 9% of men in the U.S. get them while 27% of women get tubal ligations.

Evidently you can't explain it so it's pretty clear who doesn't get it.

Yes, poor people deserve the same access to healthcare as everyone else.

Is that supposed to be a controversial statement?!

It is to me. Do poor people deserve THE SAME access to food as everyone else? Do they deserve THE SAME access to housing as everyone else? Do they deserve THE SAME access to transportation as everyone else? Do poor people deserve THE SAME access to internet access as everyone else? Etc….. I believe our society should have a safety net for the indigent, but please take out the ‘the same’ part.

There seems to be an alarming trend where non vaccinated people are being discriminated against. And social media is really reaming into unvaccinated people who end up in the hospital from Covid and even die from it. In fact, at least one Corporation is charging a whopping $200 upcharge in Health insurance for unvaccinated people and many people are losing their jobs due to not being vaccinated. A nurse who had saved many lives was asked to resign because she didn't have the vaccine. Not okay. This is just not fair, as many people have health issues where getting the vaccine is not in their best interest, such as cancer patients undergoing radiation and or chemo.

Does Walgreens require a worker to be vaccinated?

I asked an EXPERT, who deals with COVID-19 in the Las Vegas area, how many of his patients had he recommended NOT getting the vaccine? It took him a second to say ZERO. The cases mentioned are MORE in need of the vaccine, not less in need. He did say there are certain patients he would recommend getting the vaccine in a more supervised setting than a Walgreens.

Food is debatable for me. But I would not equate healthcare with transportation, housing, or internet.

And yes, poor people deserve THE SAME access to healthcare as anyone else.
