If we are going to charge unvaxed for risk then the next logical thing is to charge women more for health insurance as they use more care. Fair is fair.

I am all for that too. I think all health insurance premiums should be based off of a DNA test.

I’d prefer an IQ test. Weed out the dummies.

I agree, I would have those tests at least once a year for everybody. If you don't pass, you don't matriculate to the next year of life.

Food is debatable for me. But I would not equate healthcare with transportation, housing, or internet.

And yes, poor people deserve THE SAME access to healthcare as anyone else.

So there is Dr. Great. The best internist in the world. All the bigwigs (Bezos, Biden, Gates) use him. He doesn’t take insurance. He charges $5k a visit. Should he be forced to care for a poor person with no intention of paying?

I’m not saying that there isn’t ANY access to healthcare for ‘the poor’, but just that it isn’t an inherent right to be ‘the same’.

Are we playing semantics or do you disagree with my statement?

I think Dr. Great should be drawn and quartered.

Poor people deserve the same access to public goods as anyone else. Roads, public lands, military protection, fire & police protection.
Poor people deserve the access they can afford to non-public goods like healthcare, housing, food, transportation, etc.
The Left believes the government should use private market mandates to take care of the collective. They misuse terms like equity.
Feel free to anyone of many socialists countries in Europe if that is you desire equal outcomes/distribution of non-public goods.
The rest of us left Europe and then beat them in a war to escape their way of life.
You're welcome to swim back across The Pond anytime you want and enjoy National Health Services.
Or if you want, you can just buy better medical care in the UK with this funny thing called personal wealth.

It's an interesting question. Do the poorest neighborhoods deserve the least qualified police and the worst schools?

So intelligent! When he is forced to logically debate this is what you get from AMS.
Or he'll just....wait, I guess you can't state the obvious around here or you get suspended.

Not on police, that is definitely a public good.
I do think school districts should be equally funded, not sure that equates to better schools.
The solution to schools is a voucher system and competition to let inner city kids in poor neighborhoods get to better schools.
I think a lot of quality private/charter schools would pop up everywhere if they were handed a $14K per student voucher.
LAUSD spends like $14K per year per kid.
You don't think you can fund a quality classroom of education privately for 25 kids X $14K = $350K/year?
We are de-railing the Covid thread but Covid is over if you're vaxxed so this space is going away anyway.
