Report: Oregon Health Officials Drafting ‘Permanent’ Mask Rules

What a swell place to live, all drugs are legal, the homeless
are treated like kings, and now you have to wear a mask for
the rest of your life.

Oregon governor spotted maskless in DC despite pushing mask mandates in her own state

Quote:
Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, a Democrat, was spotted maskless at an event in Washington, D.C., despite pushing for mask mandates in her own state.

Brown was a "featured guest" at the LGBTQ Victory Fund’s 30th anniversary gala in D.C. and was caught without a face covering in a photo published by an attendee on Twitter.

The Oregon governor’s appearance at the gala coincides with a push for a "permanent" indoor mask mandate in the state.

Typical democrat hypocrite

Apparently, it’s, “Permanent,” because words don’t mean what they mean when they’re being used in a legal sense. Essentially, they’re making it a permanent mandate because if they draft it as, “Temporary,” it can’t automatically extend beyond 180 days.

Do you believe that explanation, or do you think it’s just so there’s not too much public outcry amongst anti-maskers? I think both are equally likely.

The entire Left Coast is totally psychotic and only loosely part of the country anyway, so I really don’t think we have THAT much reason to care what they do in their little state-nation experiments as long as they’re not trying to do the same everywhere. In any case, I don’t see how this could result in any cost increases over here in America, so I don’t really care.

The thing about the masks is all last year we were told how much people loved them, how much they supported them. In the first quarter of 2021 the mandates weakened. Some places still have signs that they are required but very few enforce them. Watch football games and you see at best 5-10% wearing them. The same holds at Walmart and any other public place.

The left coast seems to want to keep the power, keep the people scared to death.

I don’t know one person who’s ever said they “love” wearing a face mask.

Let’s just file this as another Duffman “exaggeration” to try to make a point….

Hogwash.

Only the cities and some adjoining suburbs are liberal; the further away from them you get the more conservative people become.

Hell, eastern Oregon and Washington want to secede and join with northern California and Idaho and form a new political entity which better reflects and represents their deep conservative views.

Our governor learned her lesson last year about masks, she
ain't going down that road again. She's up for re-election next year.

Ha! As if you had to worry about me coming there. I’ll never visit Oregon as long as I live, much less move to the miserable hellhole.

"The mask gives us a sense of security and makes us feel more comfortable," Smerling said. "We can be a little bit more private and a little bit more selective in how we want to show our faces."

She said some people appreciate that masks free them up from social niceties like smiling at others. Mask-wearing may also help reinforce a sense of community.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/face-mask-sense-security/

"Love" might be too strong for many who will continue to mask after the pandemic, though I did find (with the simplest of searches) articles behind paywalls that mentioned "loving" masks in the title...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/here-are-the-people-who-love-wearing-masks-and-not-just-because-they-want-to-avoid-covid-19/2021/03/11/7c6ec586-829a-11eb-81db-b02f0398f49a_story.html

Masks are also great for the criminal element--a mask and a hat help cover up their identities as the attack stores and steal stuff. So they may "love" using them in their chosen line of work.
