Not true. The total crime index for SF is 2, with 100 being safest. SF is safer than only 2% of US neighborhoods. The violent crime rate in SF is 22% higher than the state average. If you studied that link you provided, you would see the homicide rate in SF is 87% higher than it is in NYC. |

The problem with that link is it combines property complaints with violent crime. San Francisco is higher than Cali on average (Cali is a very safe state). Higher than NYC yes. Safer than most cities. For example the most dangerous city by murder rate is in Missouri (St Louis) by a large rate, you know that deep blue State...... The safest cities are in blue states, the most dangerous cities are in red states. |

I have put my liquid cash in a savings account paying 4.85%. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

I don't know what you think is going to happen when the working class gets replaced with AI. Both a world economy and the elimination of a substantial percentage of menial labor are both eventualities, so then what remains is what do we do, economically, in response to that. It seems reasonable to me that the rich pay to take care of the people they have replaced. What I would probably suggest is having a UBI, but eliminating every single social safety net that exists other than that. You can because those cities exist in gun friendly states. This is the major factor. The city can be blue all day long, if it exists in a state with guns everywhere, guns will infiltrate where they should not. State law influences crime. |
