I remember it happening multiple times in multiple states, starting in the late 90s or early 2000s. The media typically paints it as them standing up for something.

Democrats went to one of the most gerrymandered states to protest what they call gerrymandering. Then Newsom pulls this stunt. I think they all realize when we get rid of majority-minority packing and draw rational districts the Democrats could be out of power for over a decade. This is last-stand time.

Not a crime now, and won't be in the future. Abbott has no power to have them arrested. The civil warrants were issued by the TX Speaker of the House and only are good within the state of Texas. Did you read the article?

Legislators miss votes all the time for all sorts of reasons. Why are you yapping about it now? Let Abbott arrest all 50 of them if he can. I'm not one to say passive resistance like MLK practiced shouldn't have any consequences. Everyone will have their day in court if it comes to that.
