What are those rare exceptions to independent redistricting commissions you favor?

GOP/MAGA have a year to moderate their views and get inflation and their bellicosity and cruelty and racism under control. Dems have a year to govern from the center, protect the backstops that working people rely on every day and to win back their base voters who voted MAGA in 2024.

Also, I am not willing to bet against Donny, no matter what he says on the subject, won't try and stay in power past Jan 20, 2029.

MAGA is not changing. It will either win or lose, but it is what it is. The Democrat Party on the other hand is moving left. Hard left. It clearly worked in NYC. I just think it will lose in more toss up areas than it will win.

I think there are enough safeguards/guardrails to avert a realistic attempt by Trump for a third term. Thune won’t even end the filibuster for Trump. He likely won’t even have the House. And the Republican Party is not NEARLY as controllable as the Democrat Party is. If Jeffries says jump, there are no Dem Congressmen standing still. If Johnson says jump, some Repubs lie down, some run, some sit, and a bunch do jump.

I keep trying to envision a single bill that will be agreed to by Jeffries, Thune, and Trump. I can’t.

His attempt to stay in power doesn't have to be realistic he just has to make the attempt. I wouldn't put a nickle or even an almost extinct penny on it.
