Israeli conflict

Here are two views of the history of Israeli-Arab conflict. Pro-Israeli videos on youtube are numerous, while the opposite view was hard to find. Both of these want the mantle of historical accuracy, however, both put a spin on their view.

Start with one or the other. If you don't have a preset bias, I would say you are likely to come away leaning towards the point of view of the last one you viewed. I am on the record for saying upthread "In other times, you can make a case for sympathy with the people in Gaza, separately from Hamas ... [but] Not in these times" [in other words, terrorism biases me] But I flipped a coin for the one I would put first. You of course can start with whichever.

Funny, we have people fretting about declining population. Gaza needs about 1 million fewer people for starters. And I don't mean killing them off.

I only wish we had declining population everywhere. I'll start worrying about declining population when we're near extinction. Which doesn't appear to be very close at the moment.

You would do better to start worrying when your economy crashes. That will happen. The 2100s will probably be a century of economic depression as the world will be losing 50-80 million people per year. I'll be long dead so I don't care.

Easier to adapt with fewer people than more. The economy will always collapse at some point anyway.

I'd rather donate to the senior's retirement declining finances than keep adding to the population to support increasing numbers of seniors who then need even more support to make it through old age.

Nip the problem in the bud then. Look after the seniors and quit supporting kids. Problem will solve itself, seniors are a self correcting problem. Those kids all become seniors eventually.

Not in a population collapse. In the 2100s we will see up to entire cities empty out. As it happens all that infrastructure has to be maintained. It is not going to be pretty.

Glad to see that many of the protesters are masking up to prevent the spread of Covid.

That is why they are masking at these protests against Israel, right?
