Not in Portland: the democrats are all pretty much bleeding heart liberal progressives who quaff the snake oil offered by Bernie and AOC.

Really
Keith Wilson strikes me as a common sense mayor

He's not as bad as some we've had, but he's too soft on the homeless.

We had a cool mayor a few decades ago with Bud Clark, the figure wearing a trenchcoat in this pic:

So he's the leading Dem in the city and your biggest complaint is soft on the homeless
He's more centrist then Bernie and AOC I have to imagine
Closer to a mainstream Dem rather then an extremist Dem
Dem extremists are loud but who has power
The moderates
Republican extremists are loud but who has power. The republican extremists outlawing abortion , approving tarriffs and starting wars
Republican moderates no longer exist
Dem party closer to the center
The Republican party has gone right-wing extremist

Mayor Wilson is a centrist-to-progressive Democrat whose governing philosophy is heavily defined by a pragmatic, data-driven approach, but about half of the local politicians are progressive democrats, very liberal, anti-Federal government and against (envious of?) the uber-wealthy.

About as bad as the clowns up north in Washington state who propose to tax millionaires disproportionately in order to have their hard-earned money trickle down to the otherwise unentitled plebes.

Way too left wing for my taste.

But the average citizen in stumptown is uber-liberal when compared to, oh say the denizens of Topeka or Louisville.

Still and all I stay here because I like it...not nearly as much as I did decades ago but it still beats New Jersey.

Gee, and I wonder who, along with his cronies, took advantage of this and engaged in insider trading?

Any guesses?

I just passed a gas station today
4.35 a gallon
I am stunned how fast the price has gone up after just 1 week
I have to imagine the American people are getting pretty pissed off
I'm pissed off and angry about this
A President DIRECTLY responsible for making gas unaffordable for many Americans
Just think what this will for to inflation
A President DIRECTLY responsible for rising prices and a falling stock market

Yes, and the silence of the American sheeple in protest is deafening.

Why don't you guys just buy the stuff that is working instead of complaining all the time. Gold is up 19% this year, Silver is up 12% because the long term trend of ever increasing US Debt is decreasing the value of the dollar relative to hard assets. When do you think this trend is reversing? Real estate is another example, why haven't values come way down as mortgage rates went way up over the last several years? Maybe because the USD is worth way less versus real estate than it was 5 - 10 years ago. Of course oil stocks are up, XOM is up 12% since first carrier group move to the Gulf was announced on 1/23/26. If you didn't buy oil/gas stocks on the news, why not? Posting here does nothing for your wealth or personal security, but many of you sure do spend a lot of time posting here anyway.

Here we vent, bitch, moan and complain.

True, it does nothing to affect our wealth or personal security: it only helps remove cobwebs, crystallize our thinking as to current issues and of course it improves our mental health.
