That's a rather dodgy/lazy/shoddy source that you quoted: "Pushing PETROL costs over $100 a barrel"

If they can't tell that petrol and oil are not the same thing and that PETROL costs have been $100 a gallon for years, you should maybe seek more careful sources.

And I do agree with your stance, just not the way you are posing it.

"Petrol" in the US and "Petrol" in europe are two different things.

I understand that : In the U.S.,Petroleum refers to the raw, unprocessed mineral substance from which gasoline and other fuels are derived.

I didn't think you guys used the word petrol. Why the Grauniad* used the word escapes me.

*Grauniad is a word commonly used for the Guardian because it is so bad with typos.
