I never saw the video on Floyd nor care to still. And they were not "protests" they were riots.

They did not, the police chief said they used excessive force and did not follow protocol and they were all internally disciplined to varying extents.

I am pretty well educated on crowd control and suppression tactics. There is not a single circumstance where 4 men are supposed to beat somebody on the ground who already surrendered... This is not a thing...

No, they took it up step by step. King kept resisting at every step. Tasers were not yet invented to subdue back then.

I don't know if you are old enough to remember the whole thing, but everyone in LA government was scared to death and just toeing the PC line, blaming the cops. Which is why they changed the venue in the first place. The way they showed just the end of the video on TV news, looped, was made to inflame.

But no matter what, none of it excuses the riots and looting. Lots of the looting was racist blacks who did not like stores being owned by Koreans. Everyone forgets that.

Kimmel's episode last night was really good, not really many jokes, but a lot of talks about free speech and how the current administration. Also, it blew up on Youtube over 7 mil views in a couple hours of posting on Youtube. A good showing for shielding free speech. Apparently the on-air numbers were great too, especially considering so many local stations refused to air it.

Heck, I almost watched it! It’s news happening live! As could have been expected, the left is lauding his monologue, while the right continues to believe he is tone deaf. To me the ending was perfect. Some of the stations chose to air him, some didn’t. And ANYONE who wants to see it/read it can do so.

I expect Trump to keep meddling, but fail.

Someone a few posts up said we were in ‘dark times’. That’s someone who has no understanding of what ‘dark times’ are. If you are in Gaza, that’s dark times. In Ukraine, that’s dark times. In Chad….. A New York Giants fan……. Etc…

If the USA’s population doesn’t like the ‘times’ we are in, a year from today they can flip the House and Senate. And two years after that elect President Ocasio Cortez, with Vice President Tlaib. Then you will know what ‘dark times’ are.

The tune-in factor will give him high ratings. That will last a week or so at most. All these lefty talk hosts are slicing and dicing the minority of the market. They are too expensive for the audience they deliver. A few will survive, most will fall. Something of new format will replace them, perhaps sprots-betting shows like the former "Lock It In." Conservatives seem to have turned more to podcasts.
