The assignment for the advanced readers is to confirm or deny a common etymology with the "sup" prefix in English, in such words as supersede, supremacy, and superintendent. Ejemplo time. Si fui el rey del mundo Te digo que hacer Suprimiré los coches, las tabernas, y las guerras y hacer amor dulce contigo. = If I were the King of the world Tell you what I'd do I'd throw away the cars and the bars and the wars And make sweet love to you Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

It means more to delete or to suppress. The word for abolish is abolir.
Sickly sweet quality aside,: Si FUERA el rey del mundo Te digo que HARÍA TIRARÍA a la basura los coches, los bares y las guerras y HARÍA, etc. What have you got against bars and driving? Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

LA gente. "Gente" is plural in the singular, just like "people" is in English, but it has a plural form. Also "fuma" "y manjaR contribuye aL..." Global Warming (TM) as a catastrophe is little more than a myth of the Church of the Burning Globe (not its real name). The purpose is to sell indulgences, or carbon offsets. I take it you've scrapped all your cars, took a sailing ship to Malta and get around only on foot or bycycle? ;) Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

It isn't owning cars that is the problem but driving them, which I do very little of. I get around plenty by bicycle. Fair point about Malta. I owe some carbon offsets for that one. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

This assignment is particularly: peatón - masculine peatona - feminine This word does break the normal rules for masculine/feminine where one ends in 'o' and the other in 'a'. The reason is that it is a Spanish word that comes from a French word, "piéton". |
