I was disappointed
4 out of 10
Big reveal at the end kind of weak

LOL! I was just going to the reviews,
a movie directed and starring Clooney,
about a subject we're all sick of, has
to be a dud of the first order. If you
didn't like it, and you like EVERTTHING,
it has to be a real loser.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Just finished season 1
This is very well done as you now see the 1st movie from a different perspective
It borrows a lot from the 1st movie yet it really stays fresh.
Loved the final scene of season 1, boy was that a shocker
Got 2 more seasons to binge and I hear season 4 just got confirmed
Go Cobra Kai

I remember we talked about Umbrella Academy a while
back and I finally got around to watching the first two
episodes. Oh my dear God. What a truly awful show.
Horrible acting, terrible writing, ridiculous story. The
characters were cardboard, not a single one of them
was likable.

I do not understand the times we live in. When I was a
kid in the 50s, we saw violence every day on TV. Cowboys
shooting Indians was rifles, Indians shooting Cowboys with
arrows, police shooting crooks. We got Roy Rogers toy
guns for Christmas, and BB guns. The violence we saw was
never gory, it was never over done. Jump ahead to today.
If a kid at school so much as makes a gun sign with his
fingers, or draws a gun a piece of paper, he's kicked
out of school and sent into therapy. Yet he is surrounded
by the most gory violence imaginable on TV, and video
games, and in movies. The superhero kids in Umbrella
Academy go into a bank that's being robbed by a gang
and kill every member of the gang in the most violent
way possible. One of the kids is completely covered in
blood from head to toe.

I don't get it. Talk about sending a mixed message,
what is a kid supposed to think. When I was a kid,
the superheroes like Superman, Batman, Green Hornet,
they never killed anybody. Never ever. They caught
them and sent them to prison. We would have been
appalled if they had violently killed someone, and we
lived in pretty violent times. The world we live in now
makes no sense. Just like Umbrella Academy makes
no sense. Got some of the worst reviews I've ever read.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I started watching a serial on Netflix called Blacklist. So far, it seems like something I will like.
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent.

British usually say "serial" while Americans usually say "series". Are you British?

Blacklist was the third highest drama on television when it premiered 7 years ago. It was right behind the perennial popular NCIS shows.
NCIS (11th season)
NCIS: Los Angeles (5th seasons)

Blacklist has been renewed for an 8th season which began in November. No longer the rating's powerhouse it is NBC's 5th ranked drama series

Chicago Med
Chicago Fire
Chicago PD
This Is Us
The Blacklist
Law & Order: SVU

Of course broadcast TV has been decimated between COVID and streaming television. Scripted broadcast show viewership is a fraction of what it used to be

million viewers for highest rated scripted TV show as of 1/18/2021
9.679 CBS - NCIS
7.774 NBC - Chicago Med
7.003 FOX - 9-1-1
5.833 ABC - Grey's Anatomy
1.062 TheCW - Supernatural final season
1.064 TheCW - All American

Nope, not British. I didn't even know it was a network show. I just assumed a Netflix show.

One of the best shows out there,
I'm a couple seasons behind.

Discovered a recently added show
on Nflix, The Repair Shop. It's a
BBC show and the ep's I saw
knocked my socks off. They repair
and restore antiques and art and
heirlooms. Huge hit in the UK.
It's what I used to do for a living,
repairing furniture, Edison phono's,
wooden radios. The expertise
of the craftsman on this show
has me enthralled.
