The film sequel to The Sopranos is supposed to hit the box office on September 24, 2021. The film has already been made and the plan was to release it 5 months

Tony is played by James Gandolfini's
son, Michael. He's only been acting
since 2018 and I'm sure this movie
will be a big dud. It's a prequel
from the 60's so none of the orig
cast will be in it.

Watching The Irishman on Nflix in 30 min
segments, like it's a mini series. They
made DeNiro look younger with CGI.
He looks like the figure of him in
Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in
Vegas. Pesci and Pacino were
nominated for a bunch of awards,
DeNiro for none that I could find.

The main actors are so old it's
tough to watch. Keitel and Pacino
were late 70's, DeNiro was 76,
Pesci was 76. Even Scorsese
was mid 70's. Keitel and Pacino
are in their 80's now. Pacino
and Pesci were nominated for
Oscar's.

Took me a week to watch this 3 and 1/2 hour snorefest.
It's really well-made, good acting, top-notch actors,
it's the story that puts you to sleep. It drags on and on
and on. There's no one point in the movie where you
can say wow that was really good. Most of it takes place
in the late 60s and through the 70s. I have forgotten
what a boring time that was. The last 20 minutes is
downright depressing, and pointless. This is a 2 star
movie at best. 90 minutes too long.

Sheeran’s story about the German prisoners reminded me of someone I knew years ago.

He was a Sgt. in the war. On more than one occasion, when they had German prisoners, his Captain ordered him to take them to a base two hours away, with the order ‘Be back in an hour'. They would drive for about a half hour, dispatch the prisoners and return to base on time.

Watching Queen's Gambit again. This is even better
the second time. It's an almost perfect mini-series,
I have no complaints. The production values are
stunning, the acting is excellent. The story is engrossing.
They capture the 1960s perfectly. This had to cost a
fortune to make. I'm almost as impressed with this as I
was with Downton Abbey. I'm sure I'll watch it many
many times, it's that good. It doesn't hurt that the
lead character is gorgeous.

My friend the ex-priest takes chess lessons from a chess
master in Indonesia. Since Queen's Gambit came out
on Netflix the number of students he has almost doubled.
Everybody wants to learn chess now. They're in for a big
surprise when they find out it's nothing like they portrayed
it in the series.

I agree, The Irishman wasn’t very good.

I have been going through sopranos for the 3rd or 4th time to scratch the mobster itch.

Gilmore Girls on Netflix. Never even heard of the
show until about a month ago. Apparently it was
very popular 20 years ago. A really fat Sally Struthers
and a hugely fat Melissa McCarthy. I swear to God
her ass is a yard wide and she's totally obnoxious.
I watched 3 episodes and have not made a decision
yet. They have the daughter written as a smart, level
headed, 16 year old. They have the mother written as
a flighty, screwball, dummy. I do like Edward
Herrmann as the grandfather. But I really can't stand
the mother character so far, I don't know how much
I can take of her. The premise of the show has the
mother coming from a super wealthy family that tried
to spoil her rotten and give her everything on a silver
platter but she would have none of it. Problem is the
character is just not that smart, she's kind of a dumbass.
And people like that do not reject their wealthy parents.

This was on the WB at the same time they had Buffy the
Vampire Slayer on the WB. I suspect this is a show you
watched when you were in high school and have very
fond memories of 20 years later. So far there's really
not much to it, pretty empty-headed.

The image in my head that I just received of EB laying in bed binge-watching Gilmore Girls is quite a funny one.
